    Had this for a while now ... interest seemed to die out, but with the new patch, it might come back.

    Newest versions, there are a LOT less running triggers (6 on the server and between 12-20 on the client, depending on "class"). Few other changes, but nothing major.

    The rar includes The Obregan Gap and The Pass plus a short readme.

    Well, time for a thread necro here.


    I was just about to start designing a new large-scale, respawn TvT mission when I thought: "What was wrong with my old one?".

    I think the answer to that would be the complex (and problematic) "wave respawn" system.

    Come to think of it, it works and all, it just can have problems with a laggy server.

    So, instead of re-inventing the wheel, I decided to "overhaul" this mission (tested quite a bit back in April 2008), since I KNOW it works (end mission triggers and all).

    The changes I made were simply updating the BLUFOR units to the new schnazy "Woodland" camo pattern, replacing the HMGs with the GPMG nests from Warfare, updating the player loadout order, to get rid of some unseen errors, and adding in my newest M136 AT weapon script.

    The major change is the removal of the whole wave spawn system. It is now much, much simpler. You wait 10 seconds, then respawn at main base. This is not a problem, because each main base is about 3km from the fight, and the vehicles available must be manned by specific crews (Strykers and Mi-17s). Effectively, there is ALREADY a "wave respawn" taking place, you get fresh reinforcements with the transport load, no need to make arbitrary rules, if you WANT to walk it, you can, but you only have 60 minutes for the mission.


    Either way, I would like to see another large scale version of this mission get played ... it would be nice if it could get up onto Server 2 as well, as the last time we played it with 40+ players, the server was knocked to its knees dealing with all the JIPer's addons.


    Here's hoping to a resurrection in organized ArmA TvT.
