    Re: HiFi 1.5 out now

Gogeta I haven't tried BPA yet. Im not sure how HiFi will stack up against it?

What I know is that I tried Chammys (which people raved about) and FDF (which people raved about) and I found the sounds lacking in some way. I then installed HiFi and was like "WOW, this sounds better". For me it's about the rifles and MG's as well as bullet cracks. I found that HiFi suits me in that department. The other mods were weaker or the bullet cracks didn't seem correct.

What makes BPA good? I don't know anything about it. Is it a minor tweak or a big overhaul of sounds?

Its a minor tweaking that seems like it came with the game itself... cracks sound good... engines and shots fired at a distance sound real good. Explosions are good too. Plus the subtle ambient sounds like the wind in the mountains or the breeze in the MH6.. its just a nice little touch up. I havent given hifi a chance since the first release though... maybe I should give the newer versions a try.. .seeings how they are actually updating it (unlike BPA )

    Re: HiFi 1.5 out now

Well I tried out Fromz FAMM sound mod last night. I have to say that I like parts of it quit a lot. The rifles sound great, very realistic and the bullet cracks are nice as well. The vehicles sound pretty good as well.

The ambient noise is a bit weak, for some reason it was raining yet I could barely hear it? As well the rifle sounds seemed to die down a little prematurely with distance, and yet at other times sound great at distance? In vehicle the sounds weren't as screaming loud as in HiFi, which is nice.

One nice little addition with it is a modification to the tracers. You get tracers every few rouds and they look a little more real. Sometimes though if you see a round ricotie (sp?) from the side it looks like a long line instead of a single round.

Overall I find this mod to offer some really great sounds with a few oddities in levels sometimes. The tracers are nice little addition as well.

    Hi-Fi just had another update.

I don't know. Hi-Fi just sounds very tin-ny or something.

So far hte Fromz mod has the best sounding rifles. I never found Hifi to be tin-ny though. Again, its been a while since I tried FDF or Chammys it may indeed sound tiny compared to them but when I switched, HiFi produced a much louder, realitic sound.

EDIT: It states in that update that for Warfar mode he lowered the UH60 sound from 80 to 50, something needed for the vanilla HiFi as well, its damn loud!
