Yeah, we're missing several folks who signed up for this event. Any substitutes would be appreciated. See the first post in this thread for TeamSpeak server details (we're using an alternate).
Again, there are currently four spots open for this coop event, if anyone would like to fill in.

Re: Sunday June 3rd Coop Event -- Pre-briefing Analysis and Planning
I am glad I got the chance to participant in this pre-planned mission and thank johnflenaly for setting it up for us. It certainly gave me a glimpse of what can be accomplished in ArmA and left me even more excited about the potential it has within the community. The actual mission was a bit disappointing, but only because my fire team ran into some early trouble and had to spend most of it as spectators. I did, however, stay for the smaller mission and got an opportunity to finally play enough to fully appreciate the game.
I look forward to the next event and hope to find the time to jump on the servers more often.

Grah I'm really, really sorry I wasn't available for this guys, I've been having overheating issues on my comp for a few days (although at least it starts now) and I'm off ArmA until my new cooler arrives.

Re: Sunday June 3rd Coop Event -- Pre-briefing Analysis and Planning
Well, we didn't actually even get to the hard part!
Just so everyone knows, there are only two undersized squads in the northern part of the town, and this is what we ran into in the first few minutes. The problem is, there wasn't any sort of recon done before we moved in, so we had no idea what we might run into. I think some folks who played previous versions of this mission just assumed the bad guys would be in the same places as before.
I'm sure part of the problem was the fact that we lost TeamSpeak ten minutes before the briefing was supposed to start. Once we all finally got set up and ready to go, we seemed rushed and disorganized. Hopefully next time we won't have issues with TeamSpeak!
EDIT: By the way, this mission is entirely doable. Granted, I'm the mission designer, but I've been able to advance into the middle of the city and destroy one of the tanks on many many occasions (by myself during testing) before being brought down. There is some randomization in the placement of enemy troops, so I definitely do not know exactly where they'll be each time. What's worked for me, though, is scouting out the area I'm planning to move through and then moving carefully through that area. There are also a couple of approaches that are safer than others, one of which is almost always a sure bet.Last edited by Strag; 06-04-2007 at 03:11 PM.

Re: Sunday June 3rd Coop Event -- Post-mission Discussion
I see. I think part of our problem was the recon sniper and spotter element were those that we sacrificed when filling out the ranks with what we had. Also we had a lot of late additions taking spots. i think if we don't lose TS and have a full team in positions as planned it would be a lot more of what we wanted as far as an outcome.
