Re: Domination (1 team) Co-30

I liked it quite a lot. Although, you missed our botched attempt at a side mission. It wasn't too bad but we were completely wrong in thinking we could walk up this very steep hill. We wasted about 15 minutes sliding on the side of the hill. In the end it was three that grabbed the chopper and flew to the peak to destroy the objective.

We got creamed trying to take the first objective. I think it was the small size of our group that made it so difficult. There was a lot of armor and plenty of infantry. It was worse when tank crews pop out of what should be their death traps.

Re: Domination (1 team) Co-30

It's a great mission but mirroring Jam and Sarc, we need more people. When we went to attack Rahmadi, there was something like 15 pieces of armour and what 50-60 troops, maybe more? I laid there for 5 minutes wondering observing the task ahead of us wondering how we could accomplish it. Each time coming back to the conclusion, if only we had 10 more players.

The other thing was that the missions at the start were set at 8 which is too much for only 6-9 players. You get side missions as well, and sometimes the main mission has a side mission too. I Guess it depends on how long you want to play but we were up to mission 2 (with 3 side missions complete) by 4 hours of play.

I think if we are to play this again, we should really make a sunday of it and work out some structure. This way we can have 2 forces hitting an onjective from different sides with a lot more firepower and we can organise things a lot better. Perhaps as minimum I would want 10 ground pounders and 1 pilot with no mobile respawn. That at least gives us 2 5-man teams to work with.

overall a great mission but we need more people

With fewer players, I think the side missions are more than enough to enjoy the mission. They have fewer enemy forces and the missions were quite varied. The convoy ambush was a particularly good one. It took a while to set up but it was nice that we had lots of time to pick the ambush point.

Do me a favour and upgrade to version 2.17. Otherwise you'll miss the KA50 and Mi17 that drops para troppers over the main targets... There was a small bug in 2.16 that was fixed in 2.17 regarding the enemy helicopters.

Cheers

Well, I guess you are talking about Pico de Perez, the highest mountain in ArmA.
No one else has chosen this mountain as an objective in a mission and all were asking me, how can we solve this ? But you've found the right answer

One more thing, if you want to reduce the number of enemy groups for a main target, edit x_scripts\x_createguardpatrolgroups.sqf. You can change the number of guard, static and patrol groups in the _number_.... variables.

Cheers

Had some fun with this mission earlier today. Here is a very short video showing some of that fun:

Heck, this mission is so good, and so non-linear, that I can't really see any reason at all it shouldn't replace the played to pieces Evolution on the Evo-server.

It is a big mission. A long mission. Adaptable in scale. Thanks to the mobile respawns even few players can take on the strong defenses, and since you get a random extra vehicle for completing missions you have to play the game differently depending on what you can lay your hands on.

Yep I think it would be a good replacement for Evo too. With all 21 missions, there must be a day's worth of playing at least.

Re: Domination (1 team) Co-30

Version 2.19 is now available...

- Increased the number of the sidemissions to 30 !
- As soon as a main target is clear, a flag gets created and you can parajump from this flag with ManDays HALO script
- Bugfixes and internal changes

Btw, if the sidemission is a convoy mission, the convoy won't allways follow the same route, it may vary.

Download available via BI forums (can't add an url because I don't have 15 posts yet)

I hope you enjoy it.

Greetings
Xeno

Great stuff Xeno! You've definitely made an Evo killer for me - I think this is a great mission and has so much playability because of its random nature.

Can we get 2.19 on the server?

Total thumbs up. Once you get used to the characteristics of how Domination works, it's phenomenal.
