Re: Track Ir 4Pro

I recommend the TrackIR+TrackClipPro bundle. The TrackClip clips onto my headset so I don't have to wear any kind of hat for it to work. TrackIR is as important to me for flying as the joystick, and it is just as useful on the ground. Now that I've had it and played ArmA for a few months, having to go back to BF2 or OFP or GRAW feels very akward not having this capability.

Dslyecxi has a promo code for it on his website - $35 off for the bundle, or $30 off for the TrackIR4 alone. Both come with the vector clip if you want to compare the two.

TrackIR4+TrackClipPro
TrackIR4

PS: Looking forward to using it in the HL2 Insurgency mod!

Wolfseven:
Merging thread with existing TrackIR thread. In general please try to refrain from posting nothing but links.

I am also wary of people posting promo's that appear to be referral based and potentially provide income back to the poster. I certainly have no idea if this is the case for your link, but it is worth noting in your post if any connection applies. Someone with your tenure at TG certainly gets the benefit of the doubt, but as a rule we try to keep these things out in the open.

Is Track IR at local retailers like Fry's or Best Buy, or am I stuck buying off the net?

I love it. I'm still looking for a more tweaked profile but it is a great addition to the game.

Re: TrackIR4 + ArmA = :D

I got it and LOVE it. Once you have the hang of it, I find it extremely weird going back to anything else.

For example. I was at my friends last night playing Americas Army on his Xbox. By habit, I actually turned my head to look over my shoulder. Wow, felt like and idiot, but he didn't catch on.

I also hopped into a user mission with two huge squads against each other just to test Chammy's, didn't have my TrackIR on, and caught myself looking to the left trying to move my view.

It become so natural its crazy. You don't realize you're doing it as Sleepdoc with confirm. He was flying last night and all of the sudden I hear "Hey, I didn't notice I was looking around, thats crazy!". And it is crazy, it's all natural until you don't have it and you wonder whats missing. This happens, because you're brain is actually calculating you're head "in the game". You move your head, your view changes right? Well this is the same, but in a game. And because its the same, your brain does not comprehend that it's a game it is viewing, so you won't realize it until you visually note that your screen is moving without you moving the mouse. It's a wonderful invention.

If you don't have it, I highly recommend it. Especially if you play flight sims as well as ArmA. You will not be disappointed after you learn it.

But be ware, the only sim I experienced this with was Flight Sim 2004. I started playing it. And me having used TIR in Falcon 4:AF, I didn't think much of it. But FS uses all 6DOF so it becomes that much more. I actually got a little motion sick for a couple seconds, before I realized it was the TIR. Needless to say, once I realized it, the feeling passed and I continued on. So far that has been my only minor incident. Other then that, its wonderful.

Again, if you don't have it, you're missing out on a whole new level of ArmA, and other sims for that matter.

Re: TrackIR4 + ArmA = :D

here's a profile someone else made that I found, can't remember where. I changed the up and down sensitivity some from what the original was. I still want to make some adjustments but it's a good start for arma. Also I have a track clip so you may need to change that option in the profile settings.

Oh yeah, I'm a big pilotting enthusiast and let me tell you; the TrackIR4 is something all flight-simmers desire!

Seeing how compatible with ArmA it is just makes me want my paycheck even more
