Re: Creating a Squad XML
This thread was moved to not distract from the one it spawned from. This information above is how you create the details you see either in game by hitting the "P" button or the logo you see on the side of the vehicles.
It is not that difficult to create the files that make this happen, just have a bit of patience with the image though. If you use a custom image for your clan or yourself, keep it appropriate for in game. If you are interested in exactly how to do it yourself, follow the below links to get started. Wiki Page PhotoShop tutorial *Note - You will need a host on the internet that allows you to upload it there. TG offers this kind of space with thier Supporting Membership!!

Re: Creating a Squad XML
With more folks playing ArmA in anticipation of the v1.07 patch, I want to make sure everyone understands what this whole squad.xml thingy is.

Re: Creating a Squad XML
Just to add to Strags post. The Logo will appear no matter what server you are playing on (they are fetched from the online (24/7 x 256) .xml).
So, please bear in mind that other players will see the displayed "tag" and you will be representing the Tactical Gamer Community, and the values it stands for. |

Re: Creating a Squad XML
Here are a few more updates after some discussion among the admin team.
It turns out that the arm patches were actually implemented in v1.06, so they're already available in the game. No mod is necessary. Here's an example with a concept logo (along with the logo on a vehicle): houdini and Buccaneer are working on some excellent logos for general TG use. Right now we're considering a logo for regular members and also one for Supporting Members. Beyond that, houdini pointed out that in-house squads will be able to use their own squad logos if they choose to maintain their own squad.xml files. This means that each in-house squad can have its own logo on uniform arm patches, as well as on any vehicle they're in. VERY cool! |
