Browna, as cheap as ram is you should go ahead a get 4 gigs (should probably just buy a new 4 gig kit to avoid conflicts, since it is only about $35.

Then play some, and if you want more of a boost, you could overclock that CPU up to 3.0 and probably not even increase the temps. Are you using the stock cooler from intel?

no, i have spire cpu cooler (http://www.spirecoolers.com/main/pro...asp?ProdID=706) and my mother board while supporting 4gb of ram it must be 4 x 1gb single sided. so atm im stuck with 2gb

Mosley you can run on high no problem possibly even some very high.Kazia you should be able to run very high easily. Cry of wulfen you get med/high for sure.

Really? Thats a surprise, as I have seen people in other threads like WarProphet who is having problems and he has a quad 3.0 with a GTX285.

Yeah sure you can run it on high, in the armory, for instance. Try to run some of the campaign missions like counterattack or host a coop campaign and we'll see.
But don't be a'feared, they'll optimize it a bit in future patches.

I've actually gotten it to run pretty smooth.
The key was the 182 nvidia drivers (I have 8 gig ram)

When hosting on my own machine for SP or coop I get an fps of maybe 10-20 when playing on a dedicated server I get 25-35. I can run most things on high with some very high with 3000 view distance on a mid range machine.

ok, what im on about above is which is better? the 2 rigs differ in price by about £10-20 so price isn't a factor between these 2. you help would be greatly appreciated, i will probably order in the next 7-10 days so your feedback would be usefull.

ATI has a better track record with Arma, but Nvidia is gonna be a good card for a long time. I myself would go with whichever one has more VRAM.

For ArmA 2 and ArmA 2 only, I'd get the first one as ATI cards apparently work better with ArmA and because it's RAM is a bit faster. But I'm a NVidia fanboy so I'd end up getting the second one.
