Re: ARMA 2 Demo Benchmarks
Mato, if you are short on money, go ahead and get ARMA2. That is the same card I have, and more than good enough to get started with the game. Plus, when you do upgrade later, it will be so much more enjoyable, because you will see the difference. That also lets you wait till the new next gen cards come out at the end of summer.

Also, it will only get better with more patches coming up soon.

Re: ARMA 2 Demo Benchmarks
I Have the same processor, Not over clocked, with 3GB RAM and I have a GeForce 9600GT.
I had the same settings as you, but had the terrain and objects on "very high"
My FPS was 17.
With draw distance maxed out, and settings on very high, i reached 11FPS. Poor show. Im gratefull the game looks beautiful enough on normal settings. I should reach around 20FPS with that, with a few settings on high, which i can live with. Shame about the draw distance though.

Re: ARMA 2 Demo Benchmarks
At this point in time, an early stage of the game being regarded as "unstable." (only 2 patches so far with hopefully not more to go)
I'm not 100% sure whether or not the CPU plays a huge role.
Yes, it will be used to calculate the AI's abilities and other in-game aspects.
But I think the right now the best result is either fine tuning your GPU and your in-game settings to 'wait it out' or buy a better GPU.
(Although, I am very attracted to the ATIs 4890 1GB range)
Which I wouldn't advise, due to what Bamboo said and it's still an early stage of the game with prospect of having the game be stable with patches.
p.s. Bamboo, I have tried my hand at this OC thing just last week.
Got my rig running at 3.6Ghz(E7400)/400-FSB/1:1-RAM ratio/32c ambient-47c under load. Prime95 max temp being 58c. Stable.
An increase of just 800mhz for the price of £21 (Arctic cooler Freezer 7 pro & TIM). Well, that and the painful price of time spent reading hours of articles and suggestions online and the wait game of running the stress tests.
