Wow..... you can really see the generation gap in this thread just by looking at what people's musical tastes. Most of the younger players are listening to new stuff I've never even heard of.
Screw that emo music crap!!!!
METALLICA ALL THE WAY!!! "Seek & Destroy", "Of Wolf & Man", "Battery", "Orion", "Dammage Inc." all great Metallica songs for getting you pumped up for combat. Likewise good for that is Testament's "Low" album, Fear Factory, Rob Zombie, Cradle of Filth, Marlyn Manson, etc...
Ok... I confess I do listen to some of the new emo music (I call all the new music "emo" lol) but only in my less manly moments when I'm being a "sensitive" man. lol Stuff like:
Conjure One
Bell & Sebastion
Feist
and my favorite new YouTube Artist: SmartBlueCat (Gary's become a good friend of mine. Super awesome person).
Stupid forum won't let me post links but check out his newest song "Simple Plan".
Then for retro emo (Formerly known as Gothic but some of it is just wussy music) I'll listen to:
The Cure,
Typo-0-Negative
Enigma (good music for making looove)
Enya
& old school electronica like Vangelis and Tomita
And then when I'm in the mood for just good ol' rock n' roll or alternative grunge:
Pearl Jam
Nirvana
Smashing Pumpkins
Stone Temple Pilots
SoundGarden
Anthrax
Alice in Chains
Bruce Springsteen (80's rock)
Clearance Clearwater Revival (classic rock)
Bob Dylan (classic rock)
Jimmy Hendrix (classic rock)
Dream Theatre (Progressive Rock)
Steve Vai (Progressive rock)
And of course...
I LOVE Johnny Cash and classic artists/groups like Elvis, The Beatles, The Ramones, Sex Pistols, Frank Sinatra, and alot of the old Mo Town stuff.
And finally... lots of Classical Music (Bach and Vivaldi being my favorite composers although I like later classical composers like Debussy and Samuel Barber) as well as Folk music from all over the world when I'm in the mood and want to blast bag pipe music out of my car stereo when I'm driving through mi barrio (my 'hood).
There...thats what I listen to. lol
