Re: Beta patches since 1.04

If not, there is always addons I guess.

Re: Beta patches since 1.04
If one has the hardware it indeed should be faster. As far as I understood the solution to decrease stuttering in and around cities was simply to prefetch more of the building data to make sure it is already loaded. Not nice on the memory and potentially risks overflowing it (so I guess a lot of different kinds of units and custom items in cities would cause MORE lag than before), but in most cases it should be an improvement afaik.

Re: Beta patches since 1.04
And here comes yet another beta! Build 60309:
Note that a bug has been discovered in beta build 60295 that can cause players to crash when entering vehicles (driver seat?) in multiplayer. It seemed on the BIS forum like they had solved the bug, but something to keep your eyes open for. Either try out the new beta and see if it works well, or revert to 60141 (to revert, simply delete the beta folder, and install the beta patch you want to use).[60260] Fixed: AI soldiers moving in Safe/Aware could sometimes be stuck near a bush or other objects.
[60260] Formation direction now adjusts to human leader watched direction, not a movement direction.

Re: Beta patches since 1.04
Same here with the 60295.
I had 3 crashes all when entering as a driver.
Glad that it is addressed to so quickly.

PS when you launch Yomatools it will tell you if a new beta is released and even download it with a click.
Cool beans.

Re: Beta patches since 1.04
Another beta was released a few minutes ago, and wow! What a patch log! People that want a TrackIR, but think they are too expensive, fear not! The new beta patch supports FreeTrack! Also, it comes with longer object draw distance, and working vehicle laser designators in multiplayer! Clearly one of the of the most awesome beta patches since the 1.04 beta!

Get the beta where you always gets the betas: http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php[60588] Fixed: MP client could not use laser designator in vehicles.
[60525] Fixed: Changing window size is no longer possible inside of video options screen.
[60522] Improved: Longer view distance for objects when high view distance is used.
[60457] New: FreeTrack support using FreeTrackClient.dll

Re: Beta patches since 1.04
Well, TrackIR is superior to FreeTrack anyway. Enjoy it! I've shelved mine when it comes to infantry. I just can't get comfortable with it. But it's diviiiiiine for flying and driving!
