Re: Beta patches since 1.04
It's about time BI started looking into improving the DrawDistance, and now the Kiowa can be finally used for what it was meant to do.

Quick question: since the beta is loaded like any other mods, that means that if I have it running I can use it normally on TG's servers?

Re: Beta patches since 1.04
Yes, plenty of us stubbornly play the beta all the time at the TG servers. Heck, I even refuse to play without it!

Re: Beta patches since 1.04
Good to know. Time to no longer being able to see prone enemies, then

Btw, I was surfing on the BI forums earlier and apparently there's a little problem with the way the long distance grass layer is simulated: unlike ArmA1, the unit "sinks" into the normal geography of the map, but the target hitbox remains above-ground. As such, if you see an enemy you should, after having already compensated for the bullet drop, aim slightly above the visible model.
Edit:
here's the link to the post where this effect is shown: http://forums.bistudio.com/showpost....7&postcount=49

Re: Beta patches since 1.04
Good post. I do understand why BIS has done so though, since otherwise the ground would absorb lots of the hits if the Fire LOD was lowered into the ground as well. Grass isn't supposed to protect against bullets after all ^^
Non the less, nice to know to aim half a meter higher or so!

Re: Beta patches since 1.04
And BIS continues with their ongoing work on AI improvements, now with build 60718! Definite improvement for player-lead AI squads!
[60718] Changed: AI now goes to Combat behaviour automatically only when under fire, not when player is prone.
[60718] Changed: AI follows leader stance, but does not switch to combat behaviour when player is prone.
[60711] Changed: Units now never enter cover while moving in compact (Delta or File) formations.

Re: Beta patches since 1.04
And yet another beta patch! Build 60803. There is nothing in the change log, but hopefully they have solved the performance issues that seemed to be in 60718.

Re: Beta patches since 1.04
Sweet! Documented changes for build 60819 as follows:
[60818] Fixed: AI no longers switches to aware when player leader turns in in an armored vehicle, it only goes prone/crouch.
[60818] Fixed: AI groups never went to "combat" when player was a tank commander, resulting in multiple "under fire" messages.
[60818] Improved: AI subordinates in player's group now report Clear as appropriate unless player has given Danger command.

Re: Beta patches since 1.04
All I know is that I have been able to push my cp graphics much harder since Ive updated to the new beta patches. Much better FPS as well especially in certain towns. This game is starting to get polished.

Re: Beta patches since 1.04
Yet another beta build release: 60890 is out with the following log updates
Edit:[60886] Improved AI subordinates should now respect formation more when choosing a cover.
[60852] Fixed: After revert, year was restored to 1985.
[60838] New function x intepolate [xFrom,xTo,resultFrom, resultTo] can be used in simple expressions.
apparently any time I try to access the Multiplayer menu, the game crashes.
All the other menus work fine, however.Last edited by Merula; 12-04-2009 at 01:51 PM.

Re: Beta patches since 1.04
Merula are you shure that the load order of your addons is correct, with beta first and the rest after, preferably beta;@TGModpack;restofthestuff ?

Re: Beta patches since 1.04
Please post your issue on the BIS forum, with the beta build number in the thread title. Better keep them aware of it. At least as long as rolling back to the previous beta doesn't cause the same issue.
