SM custom xml hosting
I though I read somewhere that if I got SM, TG would host my custom squad XML. Is this still true?
I've been tearing my hair out trying to get it to work on my host, but I think it's running IIS, which is why it isnt working. Hosting here would save me a couple years.

Re: SM custom xml hosting
You can use your own SM webspace here at TG for this. Just PM the admins and have them set up your account. Then make that squad.xml file and upload all the files. Then point ingame to it.
I've done this with the E1st one on my webspace. Feel free to use it as a template.

Re: SM custom xml hosting
I tried adding the 2 missing files as browna remarked in PM, but I can't get the XML to show up in a web browser. I went through the code and didn't see any issues. Probably the IIS issue again, which means I'll have to hit TG up for some hosting after all.

Re: SM custom xml hosting
Thats absolutely correct, more specifically (for those interested) when the ingame browser was encountering the ampersand (&) it would halt the file right there. My ingame journal showed my details up to the & and then stopped. I also changed my [ to | and took the clan tag out of the <name> field. XML browser now works, still testing to see if it propagates ingame.
Thanks for your help browna, I really appreciate you taking the time for my issue.
(when you get a chance, knock my email out of that post so I don't get spam botted)Last edited by ForGlory&Pain; 11-09-2009 at 10:51 PM.
