I think I already mentioned, this ones broken.
Has anyone tried this island http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=8274 ? it looks fairly simple with a nice fall theme a river or two, open planes and rolling hills. And best of all it won't break peoples machines like Panthera and Namalsk could

add one more vote for both the CH53 and Panthera, although the island definitely looks like it could possibly break some machines.

Things to keep in mind.
a) Are the addons complete models or betas?
b) If they are beta, I foresee a "TGModpack.v5000" (causing alot of unnecessary updates)
c) Does it complement/add-to the current default ArmAII factions?
d) How many times will such addon/s going to be used? Once? or throughout?
During ArmAI & ACE. Mission editors were creative and was able to "trick" the players into thinking they were playing as other unit as long as it was believable.
This was done by typing in what "BLUFOR" side was in the description and/or in the player slots. Here is the crude example.
Description: SEAL team Infiltration missionEven though it was using US Army/USMC soldier models, we accepted the "roles" and rolled with them.1-1-B SEAL Team 6 Leader

Why did I bother posting this? Simple. To slimline the TG Modpack to bare essentials.
Imagine, when ACE2 comes out. Most...no ALL of TG Modpacks addons will not be compatible. Which will happen. Rendering the missions unplayable/broken due to aforementioned incompatibility issues. Yes, this did happen. less is more.
Basically, I dont see any advantages of "eye candy" addons as opposed to "funtional" addons.
My 2 cents/euros/pence/bubblegums

Good point Low-Speed. However the ACE-2 Pack may take YEARS to finish. It was not until the year before ArmA II came out (if I remember correctly) that the ACE mod came out. In other words it took years for the ACE team to develop the ACE mod and it may take years for them to get everthing working in ArmA 2 (and add additional features as they seem to be doing).
So until then it would be nice to have something a little different. If missions break, then so be it. They will just need to be updated. Our mission makers are skilled enough to do so.
But you are right...less is more. I would like to see one mod back (Canadian or German) at the very least. The CH-53 pics I posted are still in beta stage as is the CH-46. However when they are done, they most definitely would be excellent and highly usable additions. I just gotta get ahold of SFC.ITZHAK (he's a former Israeli combat medic) to kick him in the ass to finish these babies. They literally only need a couple of hours of work to get them finished.

No, this is simply not the case. ACE2 is not "years" away. It's waaaaaaaaaaaaay closer than that. Way, way closer. You'd have to bug them on the BIS forums for an official hint at a release date, but it's safe to say that it is far, far closer than you're getting at there.

Have to think of that all major work was already done for ACE2 thanks to ACE and the compatability between ArmA1 and 2. You can safely say at least one year development time was cut thanks to that ^^

The problem is if we turn on Force consistency mode so that you may only connect with the same addons as the server then the server has to scan each one of your files to determine if something extra has been added, this increases server load which in turn increases lag.

I dont know the exact release date of ACE2 but judging by the amount of media being posted it looks as if ACE2 is coming in December/ January hopefully.
