i know everyone wants the kiev, but can you please stop adding the link!
i know were it is and adding more links isnt going to get it any faster.
also please post addons that are confirmed to be working. please no alphas or betas.
unless they are 100% working with no major bugs.

I tested out the Kiev and it halfway works. The good news is that you can land helicopters on it (although sometimes they bounce a bit on the deck while standing still but not always). You can also walk around on the deck without falling through. In addition, the elevators work on it. The bad news is that you can not take off Mig's from it unless they are VTOL. The planes get stuck on the runway when I tested it at different positions, angles, etc... as I know in OFP and ArmA1 the undwater terrain contours would sometimes effect the carrier deck. So it is usable for stuff like helicopter assaults from the deck. The textures are sucky, but overall its not horrible for limited uses. Hopefully we'll eventually get some Yak-38 Forger and Yak-41 addons (both made in OFP that could be updated) using the BIS VTOL system that will work well. But also once the deck issues are fixed by Gnat, we should be able to fly Su-34's and other Sukhoi or Mig's off of that deck.
At any rate if the Kiev is used, it will need alot of MP testing first.
I'd also like to make one VERY important reason to use the Canadian pack. Once Operation Arrowhead comes out, it will have what is essentially a map based on actual Afghanistan terrain. As the Canadians are major players in that conflict, such units would suit that map very well. The German stuff is really well done, but I personally much prefer to play realistic missions based on history or current battlegrounds.
I suggest that once the finalist addons are selected, that we have an ADDON TESTING event with as many people as possible testing the addons together rather then just one or two people who may not notice certain things. This would include players playing as OPFOR against the players using the addons as often only then you realize that "oh wow RPG's go through that tank" and stuff like that. That followed up by an After Action Review (AAR) should make the finalists very clear.

Polish Army is stationed in Afghanistan in Ghazni province. They are main part of coalition forces also

Is there any possible way that we can attach it to future modpack? If the seize is too big, lets just stick with infantry and weapons, which could be seperated from the rest.
ps: There are also Polish Leopard Tanks 2A4 and PT-91 in the pack

hi i have a nice one WarFXParticles it really adds more detail to explosions etc and also creates more realistic amounts of dust from impacts etc
Landtex is good to make the game look alot smoother
And Sukusun is nice , and it stops the rediculas amout of hrd and bloom you get from the sun , as stock looks like someone has taken your photo and you have camera flasheye .......

Its important not to make the mod pak a barrier to entry, if you have to download a 600mb file to join the server it may put potential players off.
So I think the modpack should only offer the cream of the crop.

I think the use of yoma addons sync it's far more "scary", then the size of a download. There should be a direct download alternative, if we want to keep the server "barrier" free.
On another note, since we are already using addon sync, why don't we finally start using caa1? The TGmodpack is a 1,41 Gb folder in my hard drive, another 2,7 Gb won't hurt anyone by today's standards... Maybe we could make it a requirement in Alpha server only, that way we can all be happy and still have the public server TGmodpack only.
Or even better, we could make the public server without any mods required, and the passworded server with the TGmodpack + caa1. That way we would have a barrier free server for the public, and start populating the alpha server with the all the mods + missions we have for arma1, avgani, afgan village, etc.
Everyone would be happy.
EDIT: As far as I can remmenber, I think we had our servers in arma1 like that at some point. Public server = no mods; Passworded Server = Cool mods and maps.
Maybe the older admins can correct me if I'm wrong, Jeepo?
