Re: TG Mod Pack Update
Don't know if it was posted already but the version of CBA in the mod pack is old. I don't want to sift though this thread to find out.
Version 0.2.0 is out http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=6231
I also have to add I am strongly against the use of yoma tools. To me it's bloatware and it destroys how I've managed my addons. Please revert back to simple rar archives or at least provide the option to use them over the launcher.

Re: Tg mod pack update
So if Yoma wasn't absolutely required, would at least part of the currently unhappy people be happy?
I plan on using it (and it seems like several other people are using it too) but I can understand if not everyone wants it to be required.

Re: TG Mod Pack Update
This was posted on different thread, but for those of you that are die hard Yoma haters here are the individual links to the new addons for you.
If I have left out any, copy them over from your 1st TGmodpack.

Re: TG Mod Pack Update
It's because the TG ftp(?) has abysmally slow download speeds, another reason I'm against yoma tools.

Re: TG Mod Pack Update
Yeah, I just wasn't sure if direct download links were available (for the Yoma haters, not for me), but I see they've been posted. Didn't intend to muddy the waters, excuse me.
Haha yes, I decided I was being way too snarky... but your comment about parents' money and free rent really cracked me up.
Oh man if I could have those luxuries now...

Re: TG Mod Pack Update
You may choose to use or not use Yoma tools. For those that do not wish to download the full modpack each time we add something new and want a hand's off approach to staying updated, use Yoma. For those that do not, you may download the updated pack and disregard Yoma and simply manually download from Armaholic any additions we make in the future.
You may even do that starting now by simply downloading the updated additions.
As for the complaints about what made it in and what did not... you can't please everyone, yes? There aren't as many equivalent OPFOR additions as there are BLUFOR additions. Some things weren't added because nobody wanted the modpack to become bloated with things that maaaaay get used for one or two missions and gather dust otherwise (Russian aircraft carrier).
Suggestions are just that. SUGGESTIONS. Not commands. Each suggestion was, indeed, downloaded and tested. Some made it in, some did not. Remember, this modpack exists to give mission creators more tools to play with knowing that the community is going to have the resources to be able to play any mission built with the modpack add-ons.

Re: TG Mod Pack Update
Brown, Hotmachina, & Socom: Those explanations I think are what I was basically hoping for to better understand the logic behind the current pack and I think your explanations were logical.
Ok... I'm going to give this Yoma thing a shot after reading some of the tutorials on it. After hearing some of the issues others had with it, I'm a bit reluctant, but I figure I should probably at least try it. Alot of the issue with some of us is just a matter of how much time and frustration we should spend on something when we could be doing something more productive. But at the same time I do very much enjoy the comraderie on this server especially on good nights when things are really rolling and everyone's in the right state of mind and mood for hardcore tactical action.

Addonsync 2009 users ahoy!
Addonsync 2009(aka "new version" of Yoma tools) users ahoy, here's a temporary solution for your TG-modpack worries until it's officically sorted. This is strictly unofficial and does not work with the "old version" of Yoma tools which is linked in the first post
Short how-to for Alpha server:- Go to the favourites-tab
- Hit "New server"
- Add this as its Auto config URL :
Code:http://users.tkk.fi/~pstauffe/files/arma2/updater/tgmodpack.7z
- Hit "Import"
- Go to "Game server"-tab and add the current password to the password-field
- *OPTIONAL* Fill in your TS details in the TS-tab
- Hit "Save"
Note the following:
Using the above file you will still be downloading the whole modpack from TG's ftp-server, but in addition you will also get the newest version of CBA(2.0) from my server. By default these will go to Arma2\x\TG and Arma2\x\CBA.

Re: TG Mod Pack Update
I'm very happy that Namalsk island and Mapfact was included with TG Mod Pack update. I'm already doing a mission on the new island, and I'm sure there will be more in future to come. Great Job TG Admins

Re: TG Mod Pack Update
Can someone post a link the the sound fix for brit weapons for those of us who have come to the sad realization the new "productivity" tool is very unproductive. Thanks you.
Also in the future could the admins just throw the PBOs and things into a .zip file and upload them to mirrors like for the first release, since they are already on your computers from testing it shouldn't take to long.
PS: I have now tried yoma. The 1 hour set up resulted in 20kb/s download speeds and a purge of it from my computer.

Re: Addonsync 2009 users ahoy!
If Tactical Gamer server admins would like to use AddonSync2009 and don't know how to set it up, i'll be glad to help out!
All i can say is that development for the older tool has halted about a year ago, and the new tool is still actively maintained.
Also i could easily add tactical gamers to the default servers if wanted.
If needed one could even set up mirrors to enable better download speeds.
Do call on me if you want / need help (only AddonSync2009, not the older version).
Have a nice day!
