Re: bravo server
Opposing views and differing views of how to break things down (like Chief's) are okay, guys. There's nothing wrong with critiques and complaints, so long as they're not disruptive or abusive.

Re: bravo server
Alpha server is very shiny at the moment. You've got the modpack with all the cool stuff in it and you've got the players who know what TG gameplay is about. Bravo has vanilla and *~publics~*. With TG having the numbers to get consistently good games with good player numbers every night on the passworded server it's pretty tempting to do what we're doing and go 'screw bravo'.
But a lot of the *~publics~* are just cool dudes we don't know are cool yet and vanilla arma2 is actually pretty fun. Opening up to the 'drop in server browser public' is important and it's how any community grows, so sacrificing our shiny stuff for a couple of nights is something TG'll have to do if it wants that kind of new blood.
If it's not a "do you know what guys let's go to bravo tonight!" then maybe a couple nights a week we set aside for Bravo gaming where we all pile on there for an evening. Even publicise it on the BI forums as a weekly/whatever 'come play with tg' event where if you're new to the game or the style of play there'll be people there to help you along (which of course there is anyway).

Re: bravo server
Bravo sucks when the default map is BE lite, I log in to help seed it and groan in agony when thats the map and I'm not able to change it.
Put on a persistant co-op map to help seed casual play, and if it gets full enough that admins are noticing, work from there to some more organized play.

Re: bravo server
Simply put: A lot of TGers want to play with the mods, thus play on Alpha, and empty servers stay empty unless a group of people get something started, and even then it takes a little while. Bravo, like ALL OTHER HUNDREDS OF SERVERS needs to be kick-started to get going.
Heck, other nights when people do play on Bravo Alpha is empty instead, because people prefer to play with 30 other people, than with themselves.

Re: bravo server
Leave Bravo alone, it just needs people. Simply put, it needs people badly. If TG guys are there, it will work. It worked for a long time, therefore it can continue to work. The fault lies in us, and in no one else. I for one am going straight to Bravo right now. Like right now, and attempt to keep things organized. I'd appreciate any help.
That said, Chief brings up a very good point, and for that he should be commended, not smashed. Bravo is in the pits. What shall we do? Let it rot? No, we fix the damned thing, either Chief's way or somebody elses, but we fix it. So. Let's fix it.

Re: bravo server
Now that I have your attention. It shouldnt have be one or the other when it comes to the servers, how can we spice up bravo keep new people dropping in and keep the older players there also? you dont know how many times i have been told in the last three days... if you dont want this, go to bravo, like some little kid being banished to some god awful place away from the rest of the kids. That is not the way anyone thats part of this community needs to be treated, nor the people comming to check us out. I now release the soap box to whoever wants it. Thank you very much.

Re: bravo server
As anyone who has been around since the original ArmA, you will notice this trend repeats itself. Every so often impassioned cries for open server occur and when granted, people still choose population over anything else. Since Alpha is now different, besides a password the guys willing to seed typically end up there. Those that prefer to just play see the population and migrate as well. Either leaving an empty or leaderless bravo.
A perfect solution does not exist as population is the biggest draw to most. We could have 10 servers with radically different setups to make everyone happy and 9 would be empty most of the time. I challenge people to really think about the myriad of ways to enjoy ArmA. As discussed TG will support any type of mission that does not violate the primer or our SOP's in ArmA. We often change server configs to match some of the trends in gaming. As Alpha and the mods with certain missions gain attention, bravo could change in its designation to meet current trends.|TG-12th| tHa_KhAn

Re: bravo server
I probably frequent Bravo more than most as I either get stuck at Wait for Host when joining Aplha, or die in opening volley of a 2.5 hour Co-op with no respawn.

Re: bravo server
As do I, I prefer just getting to the meat and potatoes and not as much of the extra fluff. I enjoy certain additional aspects of longer coops, but in general I don't have the time to make playing one enjoyable. Hence, why we do keep missions like Domination and Warfare available.

Re: bravo server
Ok I am sure this question will start up the mob and people with torches and pitchforks will be at my office in a matter of hours, but:
Can we have a chaperone on bravo? Maybe have a few guys that will play on Bravo during the week and keep things under controll and keep the public server moving and keep the missions rolling? If we can I for one would be willing to play on Bravo to keep it "TG" in a sence. Not neccasarily Alpha standard, but just to make sure the lunatics arent running the asylum if you catch my drift. Bravo has potential we just need to keep an eye on it and keep it rocking.

Re: bravo server
I'd be up for that. Actually pretty much all my experiences with new people on Bravo have been good. I don't feel that fit as neither admin or CO/XO, but I wouldn't mind taking charge of a squad, despite my crappy VON.

Re: bravo server
we have to make bravo server different than alpha? make it more appealing!
Why would i join bravo if i can do the same thing in Alpha and even better?
We have two group of players;
1) TG Members
2) Public players
1) TG Members
a) I would always play on Alpha, it's more tactical and organized.
b) I would play in Bravo if:
1) If different maps can be played.
2) Meet above (a)
3) Has CAA1 addons to play arma1 maps
2) Public players
a) There is no fun in bravo server, it's abandoned and players do what they feel like to do, they get bored and leave.
b) Almost whenever i play there it's always the same map! i'm not sure if an admin can be voted in or takes over automatically!
c) Bravo needs an experienced player/admin to organize games and introduces TG and welcome new players, it's PR.
Schedule/rotate SM to admin bravo server and i'm willing to help out.
Regards.
