Re: bravo server
That's a good point, Jorge. Could definitely spice things up a bit. Not to mention maybe some of the SLX AI mods? As long as players don't control the AI it only has to be on server afaik. Don't think those PBOs will crash anything if not existing on a client.

Re: bravo server
I hope so. I believe it's an easy server-side installation, and now I'm completely spoiled by the smart Zeus AI.
You think that placing a 1GB download on the public server will make it more popular? The whole idea is that bravo remains playable without requiring the players to download anything.
This has been said before, but I'll say it again. In chat, type:
...and once one player has enough votes, you can type:Code:#vote admin username or usernumber
...to change the map. More server commands here. People usually want an admin, just ask for a vote.Code:#missions
Good idea, but even without a formal schedule: all it takes is one player to start the trend. Connect to Bravo and see what happens.

Re: bravo server
I play on Alpha because the MOD Pack is more important than an open server. Ideally, I would prefer an open server with a mod download system similar to Cod2 (ingame), but the mod pack breathes a new lease of life a large amount of players couldnt substitute. If a universal mod like ACE or SLX (please don't post about what you think about these mods, their just an example), an open server would benefit, but right now, the Mod pack is pretty much keeping pubbies out.
And just because someone is a public player doesn't mean they adopt the "TG mentatility of Arma 2". I've got the PR attitude to things, and I've been playing Arma for a year now.

Re: bravo server
Making Bravo an Alpha clone won't solve the problem as people would still join whichever server has population, just happens to be right now a specific draw exists on Alpha. Bravo would best serve the community by providing a different setting to Alpha.
Scheduling short periods of time for admins is feasible in some cases, but it's only necessary when a population actually exists on the server. Getting the two to coincide with an influx of pubbies is difficult at best.|TG-12th| tHa_KhAn

Re: bravo server
I really wish my $2,400 TV/monitor didn't eat itself or I would be online tonight too. It only lasted about 3.5 years before this failure, and the repair shop is having a good time with my wallet. Avoid Samsung LCDs.
Hopefully I'll be back in-game within a week (depending on the new part and repair time). Haaaating it.
Just curious though: Can anyone confirm if Bravo has Zeus AI?

Re: bravo server
tha_KhAn, I understand that and I'm in favour of having a addon free server, but we really should add zeus AI to bravo server. It's a server side addon (except the situations referred by Inkompetent), so there would be no need to have it in the client and therefore maintain the sever addon free.
I ask this because the vanilla AI is really bad and it can be a decisive factor for people joining bravo server.

Re: bravo server
I agree with you Chief. I was a proponent of opening Bravo to the public to get new blood. We got it and so Alpha is populated with TG members again so I play there. Thanks for reminding us that recruitment should be an ongoing process so that we don't have to wait until we are in dire straits to get playing members back to the servers.
I am all for going back to Bravo to keep recruiting quality new members and will play there whenever 'Bravo Bash' nights are decided on. Any night of the week is good for me more or less. The Don Abides...

Re: bravo server
Last time around I think the consensus was Saturday to avoid conflicting any Sunday events. As for the time, I dont think any was really agreed on aside from it being set at a point to allow the folks across the pond to join.
2300 Edit/ Well tonights improv Bravo Bash was great. I was not expecting to see that many ppl waiting when we called the mission. Good job to all the TG and Pubbers that were there and working together.Last edited by Marvin; 12-01-2009 at 12:12 AM.
