Tobruk, a common problem with ACE is the items in your inventory not initializing. If this happens, drop your chemlights and pick them up again, should work.

Also, the nightvision no longer has an "autoadjust" mode: from -1 to +1, the only difference is the sensitivity to light. IE, if you map your NVGs at -1, you'll see the darkest darks like the clear of day but as soon as someone shines a flashlight in your direction, your eyes will explode like so much glass.

I'll try the HUNTIR at 45 degrees. I've been popping them straight up hoping for better flight time.

I'm listening to command chatter about almost stepping on an anti-personnel mine. TGU: Basic Minefield Clearance, coming soon!

****, best way to take out a bouncing betty minefield is with a grenade or buckshot. Those things pop open at the hint of a disturbance. Claymores and SLAMs, on the other hand... good luck.

Re: ACE2 Controls and equipment controls

Right, I've fired the HuntIR round at many angles and for some reason can't access the monitor. I have currently launched all 8 that I can hold and still, no working action to choose my monitor. Any answers?

-Edit-

I can't seem to get Sandbags to work either ._.; I am having the worst luck! XD

Re: ACE2 Controls and equipment controls

Do you have all your ACE stuff set up correctly? User config and the like?

For the HuntIR you have to have the monitor in your equipment, its a seperate piece.

Fixed it for you. Just wrap it in
text here
Do you have your ACE key set up? Thats how you do 99% of your interactions.

Re: ACE2 Controls and equipment controls

Hello all,

I need help with two issues.

One: When I equip my chemlight into the secondary weapon ammo slot and press the "F" key I can't find chemlight as an option. (Note: my config is setup correctly because Medic sim works and earplugs etc.)

Two: When I first join a game with my defualt rifle I can shot it an other players can hear it just fine. When I choose another weapon they can't hear me fire. They can only hear the rounds hitting the dirt or whatever. Not sure what is causing this but it's driving me mad. Please help.

Hello Raist.pxs,

One: When I equip my chemlight into the secondary weapon ammo slot and press the "F" key I can't find chemlight as an option. (Note: my config is setup correctly because Medic sim works and earplugs etc.)
You may need to scroll through the action menu ("[" or "]" keys) to find the appropriate option.

Two: When I first join a game with my defualt rifle I can shot it an other players can hear it just fine. When I choose another weapon they can't hear me fire. They can only hear the rounds hitting the dirt or whatever. Not sure what is causing this but it's driving me mad. Please help.
That sounds like a corrupt installation for me.
Please install and update your default game up to 1.05 then install ACE2 via our Yoma for best results.
(i.e. my file version is 1.5.0.62017)

Should that option not work for you. Perhaps this will help;

If you're experiancing no sound issues with the game only, attempt the following:
Go to
A) *install directory*/Steam/SteamApps/common/arma2/DirectX
(if you do not have Steam just find the correct directory path following the example)
B) Find the application titled DXSETUP and run it as ADMINISTRATOR.

The alternative is to make sure your sound drivers are up to date.

Should for any reason you are missing files from Yoma update use this link:

Since I see that's your first post, I'm assuming that you must have skipped this crucial thread:

Thank you for the advise. However I fixed the issue. I deleted my userconfig and recreated it and all is well.

Re: ACE2 Controls and equipment controls

i can't seem to get the ACE interaction key to work but then im not sure when id use it and thus can't test it to see if its working or not ?

can someone give me an example of when i might use it ? maybe i could setup the suggested situation in the editor to test if its working or not ?

i figured if i shot someone and then went up to them and tried to use the interaction key it would bring up the interact menu but it doesn't seem to be working.

im slightly confused about the userconfig side of things though.

i have two userconfigs for ace

first one is in Arma 2/@ACEM/Store/userconfig/ace (this is where i edited the ace_keys.hpp)

and a second on in Arma 2/userconfig/ACE (which i haven't edited as the guide on here said to change the one in the @ACEM folder.

confused i am

Re: ACE2 Controls and equipment controls

argh this is driving me slightly mad

i've switched the key in both userconfig files to multiple things and yet everytime i place a couple of units in the editor (me being a medic) shoot the other unit and then walk up to him and press the ACE interaction key nothing happens.

This is the keyboard i have, i assume the key numbering is the same as the ones in the ACE 2 keys file ?

http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/keyboa...d/devices/3046

How hard can it be to just get one key working ?
