Re: IMPORTANT ** ACE MEDICAL / NBC Awarness**
That's why they shoot you Lhowon. They are not happy with you having shot them so many times.

Re: IMPORTANT ** ACE MEDICAL / NBC Awarness**
Great! Why isn't ACE medical system enabled by default like in arma1?
It would be good dredge, many players never used ACE medical system, and even not being very complex, it would be good to show them how it works.
It would be great also if you could include a little wounded situation, so that people know how to behave when someone gets shot and not get all to try to heal at the same time.
EDIT: Is it possible to drag the wounded inside vehicles? I remember reading that somewhere when ACE2 was about to get launched.Last edited by Jorge.PT; 12-29-2009 at 08:33 AM.

I wouldn't mind some youtube videos of some of the Medical stuff, gives people who are new to the game a good intro into this feature.

Re: IMPORTANT ** ACE MEDICAL / NBC Awarness**
I agree, it would have been great if they had made the module "Disable wounding system" so it would have been on by default. I'd urge mission makers to enable it in all their missions. People will quickly learn how to use it, it worked so great in ACE 1.
I can not even drag wounded people out of vehicles. There is no action in the wheel menu or the ACE interaction menu. I haven't yet tried to put people into vehicles. But dragging/carrying them works like a charm (and should be sufficient for most situations).
I wonder if they also simulate the impact carrying has on a wounded person? Like much faster loss of blood etc., so that you might actually have to consider if you move someone or wait for the medic to give 1st aid before you move him.

This video shows it in action, but does not really do a lot of explanation:

Re: IMPORTANT ** ACE MEDICAL / NBC Awarness**
Have you played Arma1 with ACE? Then you'd know about its awesomeness.

No, seriously, the built-in wounding system is not more than being able to carry around guys and apply some magic healing. A more advanced system makes for much more fun and emphasizes the role of the medic. Especially the removal of "magic self-healing" at medics and tents, so that the medic actually has an active role. Maybe this would have changed a bit now with the new built-in system but honestly, I trust the ACE guys more than BIS to come up with something fun and immersive.

Re: IMPORTANT ** ACE MEDICAL / NBC Awarness**
Bert, I've been playing ArmA for a long time, and until TG stopped using it, I was a regular player since February, so yes I'm very familiar with ACE1.

Still, at the moment the medical system shows its beta status and I was accostumed to using epinephrine only when somebody's hearth stopped
Edit: the thing I miss is having to use the action menu. I know it sound stupid, but I liked it more when the Drag/Drop/Load/Unload options were in the Action menu rather than in this new Interaction Interface.
Edit2: I mean, the Interaction menu is fine and nice, but when I have to drag someone's behind out of the line of fire I would prefer to have a quick command in the Action Menu

Re: IMPORTANT ** ACE MEDICAL / NBC Awarness**
But now the examine message tells you exactly what you have to do. I remember the discussions in ACE 1 when people didn't know in which order to apply which stuff. But yeah, I mean even in ACE 1 they never finished the system, I think right now the system is as far as it was in ACE 1. Next step will likely be the inclusion of all the other medical stuff (big bandages etc.). I just hope they don't overcomplicate it.
And risk accidentally executing another option? I find the action menu implementation (since OFP) pretty bad, especially when there is lots of stuff around and options change because things move. I think I said it before, but several times I checked my gear when instead I wanted to enter a vehicle, because menu entries were changing while people were running around in front of me etc. (very bad in hot situations). I am quite happy about a static menu, where entries are fixed, once you open it.

Re: IMPORTANT ** ACE MEDICAL / NBC Awarness**
Personally I would like to see it get a little more complicated, I think a 'fluids' level system would be a great addition and I would like to see things like the IVs put to use. Also a more robust bleeding system that takes more than one bandage to heal would be great.
I agree however that the ACE interaction menu is far superior to the standard action menu and going that route opens up a whole bunch of possibilities.

Re: IMPORTANT ** ACE MEDICAL / NBC Awarness**
Just a quick note here I suggest people take a quick review of this thread, as intel reports indicate a certain guards motor rifles regiment on Podagorsk just received a shipment of chemical weapons
.
Also I've just created a guide to getting your ACE goggle system to work if you've been having problems with that. You can find it here: http://www.tacticalgamer.com/arma-2-...ml#post1430281
