Broken Mission Reporting - A request from the Mission Dev Team
An issue has been brought to my attention that one of the fears of moving off of a well-known/proven seeder is the idea of "We do not know if the mission we're going to play works."
One of the best ways to deal with this is to post in this thread:
Posting in this thread allows for Mission Makers to easily tell when there is something wrong or broken with their mission and will expedite the process in getting it fixed. You can also send a PM to the Mission Maker, if they are still active in the community of course. Nothing is worse than hearing that you, as a mission maker, have had players have a poor time with a mission due to certain bugs or errors with the mission.
On a related note, I ask all mission makers to subscribe to this thread and to be notified by instant e-mail (or whatever works best). This will let you find out when there might be something wrong with one of your missions.
Another thing, more of a plea actually, but it would really be nice if the Administrative team would watch that thread as well. It would really help with the anxiety of picking missions if we could have the mission maker's notified of broken missions and their missions pulled off the server until they are properly fixed. A time friendly way to handle this is maybe do systematic "cleaning" of the mission repo on the server, say once a week or so.

Re: Broken Mission Reporting - A request from the Mission Dev Team
Actually Patrol Ops is a seeder mission. It easily handles JIP progress players, has respawn, can run for hours while cycling through players as they come & go...whats the problem? I think in this context there is no ill intent on using the term "seeder".
Anywho, it would be grand to have a lot more mission development & variety available. Full props to BL1P & Patrol Ops for doing such good stuff but I'm going to say that variety is the spice of Arma. We know we got the talent and I see more submissions coming in again! Love it.
Python, you have identified a problem several mission makers have mentioned before...if we had bug tracker working for our missions it would greatly enhance our ability to keep things up to date & organized. I think the more development we get, & it is set to increase dramatically, the more this kind of tool will be important to us. Looking into this yet...
Until then, use the broken mission reporting.
The problem is in deleting missions, which can only be done by me when I shut down the server. I need a handy list I can refer to because when I shut the server down there is usually people waiting to play. I do the config tweaks and any other changes then need that list handy. Need your guy's help to keep it managable so my tired 6am eyes can get that done before I go to work

BL1P, I guess its semantics my friend. I think of it as a mission which accomodates players coming & going. A very necessary commodity when you have dips in populations. Your version strikes a remarkable balance between a casual seeder and the attitude one brings to a hardcore one life mission. It can serve as more than the seeder mission very well. However, sorry Python to digress in your thread.

Take all the missions archive them and slowly add them back as we have a quality assurance team work to see there all up to snuff. There are quite a few we can leave on as they are actively maintained but I think this may be the best way to approach it.

Would be interesting. We'd have to get a good amount of people and just run through a ton of the missions as a lot of missions have errors or bugs late in the missions and are larger missions.

Bravo Microsoft, you have now surpassed EA in poor decisions and once and for all seized the crown for the worst 'Reveal' ever. That EA were standing there on the stage with you when you did it was...

It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:

Took a gamble and got a refurbished 30 GB OCZ Vertex 1 off of NewEgg for the low, low price of $30. Had some trouble getting the drive to be recognized by Windows or by my BIOS. Had to use a jumper...
