Hi guys, i want to give Arma a go after i purchased the gold edition in summer. TO be honest i hated it, not how it felt but the teamwork was terrible and vechiles were strewn everywhere...
This however was not on the TG server (i never understood how to install addons and i couldnt even find what i needed). Could someone point me in the riht direction

Hi all, I'm pretty new to Arma, and i have almost no online experience.
Following Ricks ex:
1)I ts Preston (at least i assume it is, i don't know if there is differnce between the sp and mp character name you make.)

2) no groups

3) I have played a little Arma(I have Arma Gold, so...) and have no exp on OFP

4) I play some battlefield 2, WiC, and Company of Heroes

5) I would like to make missions, but I tend to have a short temper with those kinds of things. (*cough* Far Cry 2 *cough*)

6) I have no military exp (only 16), but I plan on going into the Air Force

I enjoy flying the Blackhawk in Arma, and I'm alright in the Cobra. Piloting planes is still hard for me, so I wouldn't mind someone flying shotgun and giving me tips. I also hate commanding (thanks to incompetant AI). And I don't have a mic of my own (might steal my neighbors...)

So thats me, hit me up and lets play sometime

Welcome Monkey man, Best thing to do for learning to fly is set up in the editor just spawn a plane and take it for a flight around the place.

yea, usually i just work on landing in the armory, but i might try using the editor now, cuz its bigger and i used to not be able to do anything in the editor.

and my new MP name is the same as on here

Welcome to ArmA at TG fellas, we have two servers currently running. Server 2 is open to all and geared toward CoOp play with default of Domination.

Server 1 is our Mod server, see our MOD discussion section for the TG MODS Phase1 pack and the two extra files in order to play once you have the password for server 1 found in our password section.

Welcome to the fray, any questions, always feel free to ask here or other players in game. new faces are always very welcome.

Hello all. Had a great time playing on the public server today with Blackdog and others, so took his advice to register here.

BTW sorry for not saying goodbye Blackdog - my ArmA crashed, which it does very rarely, but when it does it goes down in flames... BSoD and a forced restart. When I tried to rejoin the server it said it was locked, so called it a night.

Well done fellas, glad you enjoyed it and welcome to the boards! If you like variety as well, download our mod pack on the mod section and then get the password for server1 and you can play Avgani (Iraq) and Uhao (Pacific) maps with different missions on them.

Was a pleasureintroducing you guys to TG and glad to have you here!

Evenin lads. I’m not at all new to Arma, got the game about 2 weeks after it came out (and an old Operation Flashpoint player) though in all that time I’ve never been on servers so wellrun and....well I guess the closest word to it would be "professional" as the Tactical Gamer one's. Individuals working as a team lead by those with a fair idea of what to do and to an overall plan, not a headless chicken of a zerg mob???......Sign me up!!

anyway

1) in-game name is the same as this: "Century"

2) No clans

3) Played Arma single player inside-out. Though if I’m to be honest OFP had a far better story to it

4) I’m also on steam, mostly DoD gun-game, Synergy mod and L4D

5) I have not the talent, time or the patience

6) Non. there's a fair number of my family that have been in/ are serving in the armed forces, my dad was in the RAF for 20 years (as a technician on radar system) so my first memories are of living in marry-quarters on-camp but I’ve never really wanted to go down that route

Other than that?....well I’d say I’m a reasonable LB pilot though I do more driving than flying and like it like that. As far as I'm concerned anyone who can fly the jets has a talent I lack and anyone who can VTOL the Harriers should be burned as a witch
