Re: New to Armed Assault on TG? Report in.
1. Strango
2. I've been playing OFP since 2001.
3. I've been playing ArmA since the German release.
4. I'm capable of playing any role in the game, but would rather stay out of armor if possible.
5. I was the senior mission designer for Flashpoint Combat Missions. I've also got a long list of other missions created for OFP. I'm in the process of converting over the better ones to ArmA and creating some new ones along the way.
6. Full Game

Re: New to Armed Assault on TG? Report in.
I played on OFP since its inception on the US market. I played against AI and in clans. I also played with the different mods and adds on. I also played AA, the ghost recons franchise games and all the others FPS that came out the last 15 years on diverse Falcon-NW machines.
I am a supporting member of Tactical Gamer
I also have the international version of Armed Assault.
I have a question: what is the US prime time gaming for ArmA on the Tactical Tamer sites?...Each time i connect there are only 4 players. Are they anymore?...what is the future trend?...I love tactical gaming in a huge group of human players or at least a coop mission against AI when the few members are in the same squad instead of being the individual leaders of their own AI squad.

Re: New to Armed Assault on TG? Report in.
1. In game name :
Gordon_Lightfoot (sometimes Cpt_Lightfoot)
2. Experience with OFP :
played since it's release and struggled with mp woes daily. Created many, many coop missions for friends and I to play. Never put necessary polish on them to publish, looking to change that this time around with ArmA
3. Experience with Armed Assault:
Being part of the model/simualtion community and serious games here in Washington DC, Ive been with ArmA since its Check release, out of passion for the title and necessity to my field.
4. Positions and roles you enjoy playing.
Anything that gets my a** in the grass. Any infantry role that keeps me firing and making decisions is ok with me. Squad/Team Leader and support gunner roles are my favorite. I am a very capable pilot as well coming from numerous flight sims over the years.
5. Missions you have created and/or creating
standby...will be releasing many. I have plenty of access to confidential army doctrine and such that I can manipulate and change. My role at my job as a designer is to implement army training doctrine into scenarios ranging from the hypothetical to recreating actual events of off AAR's.
6. If you’re currently playing the demo or the full game
Demo at the moment.
Been playing full game since Check release...Bought that one and purchased UK version as well for translation woes.
7. If you’re planning to purchase the full game later this year
Done.
Ive worked in game development for close to 5-6 years now for two separate war gaming companies, until we were bought by a government contractor looking to develop serious games. I am currently employed outside of Washington and enjoy a multitude of game genres, specifically FPS, RTS and flight-sims (recently purchased a logitech G25 and have been racing lately to
) . Most games I either mod to my liking to make more realistic or wait for a mod that does so.
Anyway - cant wait to get into serious coop with the TG crew and members and hope to become an avid contributor and a bona-fide killing machine.

5. Missions you have created and/or creating
none

2. Experience with OFP :
Been playing since the Demo back in 2000ish? (I can't remember! *cries*) Still hop on and play FFUR 2007 when the mood strikes me.
3. Experience with Armed Assault:
Played both Demos, other than that, nothing.
4. Positions and roles you enjoy playing.
Behind our lines, shooting into theirs. Artillary, sniping, supply lines. Anything that keeps me out of the front but helping the front.
5. Missions you have created and/or creating
Not much good with the mission editor tool. I have good ideas and great feedback for missions. Just not handy with the system.

Re: New to Armed Assault on TG? Report in.
Hello all. My game-name's StudM1, & it's an honor to try this game out within this great community.
Little about myself: my friends call me Stud (or Dud, if you prefere
).
I played SP OFP itself years ago with an unhealthy addiction, but set it on the shelf for a long time after that. So I have a lot of old ground to cover again. But that's for singleplayer, I have to admit I'm not going to be a l33t multiplayer right off the bat, hehe.
I Played the demo of Armed Assault, but again not in multiplayer. I'm hoping to fix that with the full vers.
I enjoy any role, & will play it to my best ability. The roles I like the most though are any squad-level grunt or a transport chopper pilot (but don't let me touch one until I'm in practice first or ..... crunch! :\ ) I don't think I have enough experience to be a leader for a team, squad, or anything above right now. I'm hoping to game with some friendly and inspiring squadleaders & learn as much from them as I can as fast as I can.
I've only played with the mission editor in OFP & ArmA, but I haven't made a submittably-decent mission yet.
Right now I've got the digital download of the Full North American game & am going to be concentrating on both that & BF2 Project Reality over the summer & beyond.
That's about it, but I just want to thank the members of this community (especially those I met on the TG BF2-pub server) for giving me such a warm welcome & making the adjustment a lot easier. Thx
~Stud

Re: New to Armed Assault on TG? Report in.
Introducing myself to ArmA
1. In game name
Llyranor
2. Experience with OFP
I played the demos. I never got around to playing the full games. I ordered them at some point but the shipment had some problems. By then, ArmA wasn't too far away so I opted to just wait it out.
3. Experience with Armed Assault
I played the demo coop. I have the full game now and went through the basic tutorial. I've played the first few missions of the campaign, but my main interest is really coop.
4. Positions and roles you enjoy playing
I prefer mainly playing the standard infantry. I gravitate less towards specialized roles.
5. Missions you have created and/or creating
None so far, and I don't think this is something I'll be exploring very much.
6. If you’re currently playing the demo or the full game
Full game.
7. If you’re planning to purchase the full game later this year
Already done.

Re: New to Armed Assault on TG? Report in.
Hello!
New to this game, playing it for about 2 weeks. Former military, retired.
. In game name: «JTF-2» Col. Black
2. Experience with OFP - I have none
3. Experience with Armed Assault: Well around 2 weeks
4. Positions and roles you enjoy playing: All of them. Teamwork is the position I prefer playing, but so far none of this have happen with this game. Most players are PRO Rambos and Gung-ho. No structure or coherence what so ever when playing the game. Keep hoping.
5. Missions you have created and/or creating: None
6. If you’re currently playing the demo or the full game: Am playing the full game
7. If you’re planning to purchase the full game later this year: see above
