Hey there!
First and foremost, welcome to the TacticalGamer community.

Before jumping ingame, there is a few things you need to know. First of all, make sure you have read and understand our Server Rules and SOPs.

Feel free to visit our section of the forums, which can be found just right here. This is where you will find all the other information you need to enjoy your time on our servers. Don't be shy to introduce yourself and post any questions or concerns you might have. We have a good bunch of dedicated folks over there willing to help out newcomers just like you. There is nothing wrong in asking for help. Get to know the guys and let them have the chance to know you.

Talking about questions or concerns. If you encounter a problem, here on the forums or ingame, and you think it might be worth noticing the admin team, just report it in the appropriate Contact an Admin forums.

We have our own TeamSpeak server, and we strongly recommend players to be on during their game time (especially when it comes down to organized games/events) or simply to have a chat with the other folks.

Information to both of our ArmA servers can be found in the channel description of the "ArmA: Armed Assault" channel on the TeamSpeak server. Feel free to log on and hook up with the other players.

Hey guys, just joining so I can play with my roommate Arc.Wolf... I have heard a lot of great things about your servers and the variety of gameplay they provide.

3. Any experience with Armed Assault and/or Operation Flashpoint?
I have many many hours on ArmA 2 while playing on Sparta servers. I have been "certified" to fly and love to do so because I am a pilot in real life.

4. Are you active in any other games at TG?
I used to play a LOT of PR on TG servers

5. Any interest in mission editing/scripting?
Unfortunately I am a busy person to dive into that hobby : )

6. Any real world Military experience?
No Sir!

Just picked up ArmA 2 and was scouting the web for info when I happened on this site. Being well on the "mature" side it sounded a chord with me so here I am. Got a bit more solo practice to do before joing any on-line games but then I'll be looking to play!

Well I have been playing on TG for a while now, but I havent been active on the forums until just recently, so I figure its about time I introduced myself.

Any group affiliation? When I play Counter Strike: Source, you found me on eGO servers that I use to play on quite a bit. I was an eG admin and helped enforce a positive gaming environment. I really enjoyed the structure and being able to play somewhere where not everyone was yelling and cursing and throwing around every racial slur you could think of. Same reason you find me on TG servers now in ARMA 2.

Any experience with Armed Assault and/or Operation Flashpoint? I never played either one of those, Arma 2 is my first taste with the military simulation genres.

Are you active in any other games at TG? Not Currently

Any interest in mission editing/scripting? I haven't the slightest bit of knowledge as far as scripting goes. I have some fun ideas for missions, but I don't have the resources or the knowledge to get them to go anywhere. If anyone is interested in undertaking one with me, feel free to ask, I would love the fun.

Any real world Military experience? No, not currently. My plans are to get through undergrad studies and have the military pay for my Medical school. I've heard good and bad on this plan, but we will see how things go as the times get closer.

I look forward to seeing more of you on the servers and I really enjoy the gaming environment, and structure that your servers provide. Thanks guys.

Hey all, good to be here.

I've dabbled with ARMA and have recently purchased ARMA II. Played a fair amount of OPF. Looking forward to playing with a mature, tactically minded gamers.

Any group affiliation: Nope - new to all of this.
Any experience with Armed Assault and/or Operation Flashpoint? Mainly single player to be honest, with a wee bit of co-op thrown in. Quite a bit of Ghost Recon experience tho.
Are you active in any other games at TG? Nope, just signed up, but I expect that to change quite quickly. I'm a huge fan of the Total War series and other RTS games, as well as TF2, L4D etc.
Any interest in mission editing/scripting? Not particularly. Done a lot of it before (I work in video games) but prefer to play when at home, rather than create.
Any real world Military experience? None whatsoever.

So that's me. Very much looking forward to getting stuck in and playing great games with you guys. So see you on the battlefield!

Any experience with Armed Assault and/or Operation Flashpoint? Yes, single player, I tried to play OFP on dial up back in the day but it didn't work to well. I though Armed Assault was buggy so I sold it.
Are you active in any other games at TG? Currently playing Battlefield C O H 2.
Any interest in mission editing/scripting? Nope.
Any real world Military experience? None, I read a lot of military history.

I'm going through the wiki installing the mod as I type this! Can't wait to play some realistic wargames!

Yes, you can add or edit the original game (John) to whatever you want via the main splash screen.

4. Are you active in any other games at TG? - No

5. Any interest in mission editing/scripting? - Yes, I put my first propper mission together this week. I love the editor, and have started to get my head around the intricacies of SQF. I haven't done anything mad of course, just bringing in air , creating extra objectives midway through etc. One element I'm trying for my next mission is giving the player a choice of LZ's when an objective becomes current- I've got some ideas on how to do that so should be fairly easy.

6. Any real world Military experience? - No

I like what I see here and the dedication people have put in. At first glance it apears to take itself so seriously that procuedure could preclude fun, but delving deeper in to the forums it's obvious that's not the case. Getting the mods installed and up to scratch looks daunting until you begin, having it all wrapped into one mod makes it very easy in practice however. Certainly no more difficult than finding and running SIX. I suppose the hidden benifit is it keeps out the riff-raff...

On a serious note, I already have ACE but its very much not clear if that alone is enough to get into your servers. The lengthy wiki setup instructions say no but I've seen recent posts that say yes. Being in its own modfolder makes me think that @TG is required, although having two copies of ACE in my game directory seems a little ineffecient.

Its no secret public Arma2 MP doesn't work. You just get 10 people running around doing their own thing getting not a lot done. My best memories in Arma2 (and OFP) are always with mates, on vent, doing small coop missions. I'm looking forward to hopping into my first game, as a structured setup like this sounds like the best of both worlds. Big coop missions, and everyone pulling in the same direction. Something to finally realise this great games potential.

Sadly by the time I finished downloading and configuring this evening it was time for bed, and being away this weekend means I'm going to miss out on the big sunday bash. I'll be sure to see you all later Sunday, or Monday evening for some fun in game!

6 Any real world Military Experience? - US Navy active - Aviation Electronics Technician

I can't wait to start playing with you guys! I always enjoyed the Battlefield 2 community, but I am ready to move on to a newer simulator. I don't have much experience but I am willing to learn anything! Working on getting the proper mods so I can join in on the action.
