Not in ArmA2. I am in a PR clan though, thats called ESF.

3. Experience with OFP:
A really big one. I still remember the good old times

Basically it was my first online game, when I was ~11 or 12 xD. I got involved into a big, military clan, which taught me many things. But then, after a few years the OFP community unfortunantly died (at least I saw it that way) and I had to go over to another game. I found Americas Army 2 as my new game, played it for 2 years or so and got pretty good. We succesfully played in leagues and scored good in some tournements. After CoD4 came out, the clan decided to switch, and so I did. We were also pretty successful, due to our teamplay, which we aquired in AA2 the past years. After some while the game got boring to me though and I switched back to the PR mod for BF2, which I played somewhen earlier and now rediscovered. This mod never got boring to me and I am playing it up to today. Now I installed ArmA2 though and want to check it out, to maybe find a second game I enjoy like PR.

3.1 Experience with Armed Assault:
Dont have any. Tried it, but didnt like it.

4. Are you active in any other games at TG?
BFBC2 and PR

5. Any interest in mission editing/scripting?
If you can teach me, maybe.

6. Any real world Military experience?
Nope. I shot guns though :P

Do you guys offer some kind of crashcourse?

I just played a game of ACE2 and didnt get anything done.. Somehow my rifles shoot way higher than they are supposed to (i shot a wall on like 20meter, but the shot hit 2 meters above where I aimed... Kinda ****ed up oO I only heard about bullet drop, not bullet raise xD).

And then all that hotkey stuff, wind direction, all the new tools (that wind measure tool and whatsoever).

Would anyone be so kind to just sit with me or 1 or 2 hours and explain me all the stuff? I learn fast, but I learn by doing, so I need an instructor. Would be great if someone could offer me that

I would be interested in some kind of introduction/training/basic mission session aswell. Also some other Euros would be nice to have on Teamspeak too, now I've been there pretty much alone for our normal gaming time so I woke up 05:00 in the morning to just find out guys teamkilling each other on the server.

Great request Shadow, keep bugging people about this. There is some epic expertise in here and I sure even many of the vets would participate to help out with training.

While I have played on your servers a few times I have recently been beta testing PR:A2 with a few guys from TG (mainly Dredge) and have become interested in what you are about, so I thought I would introduce myself and ask a few questions....

To follow your posting requirements:

1. In-game Name - BabylonCome
2. Any group affiliation? (Previous Clan) - currently a member of [RIP] Rusty in Places
3. Any experience with Armed Assault and/or Operation Flashpoint? Currently beta testing PR:A2 and also ACE2
4. Are you active in any other games at TG? - I also love PR (BF2)
5. Any interest in mission editing/scripting? - only a little but not serious
6. Any real world Military experience? - 5 years Royal Navy as a weapons specialist

Here's my questions, not sure if this is the right place to ask them as this is such a huge forum....

My main question is:
While I am currently a high ranking member of [RIP], I do not wish to leave them for many reason but mainly due to the position I currently hold. However, after talking to some of your members I am very interested in the way in which you organise and play Arma2 matches/training etc and would love to be part of this structure and get involved in these matches as I am wanting to be part of such a 'real-life' way of playing this awesome game. I am head of the Air-Group (CAG) for PR within [RIP] and also head helicopter instructor, so as you can guess I love flying birds especially in A2. So my real question is - is it possible to be part of TG while still remaining within [RIP]? I can understand that you would not want me to display my current clan tags while playing with you and this is fine with me...

PS - I am most happy flying transport or wreck choppers as I have not quite mastered the CAS yet...

Welcome Babylon! Glad you found your way around the forums.

Firstly, you can keep your current affiliation with your Clan while playing here at TG. We have the best open community around. You can even wear your tags

The only requirement that TG has to play on its servers is that you play mature and follow the TG PRIMER and the ArmA SOP's and you are set! Again, welcome and I am sure you will find that this community has alot to offer.

First and foremost, welcome to the TacticalGamer community.

Before jumping ingame, there is a few things you need to know. First of all, make sure you have read and understand our Server Rules and SOPs as well as TG's Primer.

All the info needed to jump ingame are provided in our step-by-step Ultra Quick Start Guide. Refer to the instructions and get set up in a breeze!

Feel free to visit our section of the forums, which can be found just right here. This is where you will find all the other information you need to enjoy your time on our servers. Don't be shy to introduce yourself and post any questions or concerns you might have. We have a good bunch of dedicated folks over there willing to help out newcomers just like you. There is nothing wrong in asking for help. Get to know the guys and let them have the chance to know you.

Talking about questions or concerns. If you encounter a problem, here on the forums or ingame, and you think it might be worth noticing the admin team, just report it in the appropriate Contact an Admin forums.

We have our own TeamSpeak server, and we strongly recommend players to be on during their game time (especially when it comes down to organized games/events) or simply to have a chat with the other folks.

Information to both of our ArmA servers can be found in the channel description of the "ArmA: Armed Assault / Administration" channel on the TeamSpeak server. Feel free to log on and hook up with the other players.

3. Any experience with Armed Assault and/or Operation Flashpoint?: Played a few weeks of OFP, quickly followed by quite some time of Arma, often on the TG servers and bought Arma 2 on release. Overall I know the basics of everything. Kind of a casual Arma player, a fan nonetheless
4. Are you active in any other games at TG?: Yes, The Project Reality server is one of my Favourites. Also on the BC2 server now and then.
5. Any interest in mission editing/scripting?: Not really, I can learn at some point.. But that's for the future I suppose

6. Any real world Military experience?: Nope.
