Good PoE games today...
Man, I was in so many good squads today... There's probably four different squads I should mention, but I'll go ahead with this round of Guardian we played... It was a crushing victory for us as the Germans, and we did it the slow, defensive way that gave us a 250+ ticket win. Props to the guys of NewSquad: Carman of the Irregs, Rasta-GR, Bloodline, =GI=EYE, and the solid Real_CaGed.
My guys took and held CommStation, and didn't let go for the round. We used our armor sparingly, to tell you the truth, and I was a bit worried about that to start, but the fact is that we didn't get infiltrated much on our flag, and we took the opportunities to lay our traps, keep our AA guns up and running, and spot the enemy before they got anywhere near us. CaGed and Bloodline made effective use of the armor when we needed to, of course, but our squad was sharp without having to rely on it, which I liked. We were also able to harrass Re-Educuation almost at will, whenever we needed to pressure the other side a bit. All in all, it was quite a well-played round, by some great team players. As for the rest of the guys, Squad 1 (York, I believe) pretty much held Checkpoint the whole round, and though we did actually lose village (our back flag!) once, our team held the three flag lead almost the entire time. Another good point to make is that the enemy's airforce seemed to be seriously pressured. I think I saw maybe 3 hinds the whole map, and they got cut down fast. MercenaryVVV certainly got his share of kills on me and my AA gun, but that didn't help him cap my flag and I got him a few times too...And lastly: Braided was flying jets, and got chased a few times... Braided, man, the first time you led him over the comm station, I was laughing: I knew exactly what you were doing... I got closer to my gun, told my guys on the other gun that you were leading him, and that you'd be doing it again... that was beautiful. I have know idea how it was so clear, but I've got to give you credit. I'd also like to give props to CWE SS4456, RufusJackson, and tHa_KhAn and Magonushi (both of the 12th) and of course my mates in the 5th for some great rounds today. Lotsa fun. Ed: Later in the night, Angel SL'd Corp, Monk, Draeh of the 9th and myself in a round of "Fallen" that was fun like, well, a good round of "Fallen." It was slightly whack-a-moley within our zone of Trenches-South Cabin-Crash, but we wacked some moles pretty well... Props to Vectorline, who as enemy SL gave us a hard time, constantly coming at us with his guys. We Germans came out with a 40 pt win (though I admit to not really knowing where the lead came from, since 20 minutes into the match, the teams were separated by 2 tickets and I never saw the lead build...) I want to point out excellent medic-ing by Angel and Corp, and a personal thanks to Draeh for his medic skills at the right times. I must admit, though, that it was a relief when I got knocked down and stuck in a tree, finally not rezzable after a good run.. I don't need that pressure. Thanks to the guys that played. Yep, it was a nice round to get me going again. Though I was there for only part of it.

Hello,
Yes it was a good round (Guardian). Hope I did not frustrated any of you squadmates, because I am a noob on BF2. SL was great, and the immersion and feeling was amazing. Thanks for your patience and I hope to join you again for some good tactical play. Regards, Rasta |

Here are some screenshots if you want to relive the stats. Shameless scoreboard post. Shameless squad scoreboard post. PS: I wouldn't have started a thread in the PoE discussion group if I'd taken the time to see this AAR.

Re: Good PoE games today...
Rasta-GR, you were great in that round. No frustrations whatsoever, lol. I saw your other thread and I'm happy we found another new guy who doesn't mind playing the defense on some of these rounds... As you saw, defense can be pretty intense at times and a lot of fun. Most of the rounds I post about in this forum are about defense, come to think of it...
Draeh, man, there's nothing to say. "Fallen" was a blast. Go get some of your 9th mates into the fray, and I hope to see you in squad again soon. And I'm glad you posted that squad shot; I'd forgotten Melee got in on the action there... (sorry!) |
