Intense games last night Al Kufrah and EJOD 10/19
Big shout out to everyone who joined the IRR squad. I don't remember everyone's name but here goes: Ikill4living, toothpick (great medic), crazyhorse19, TurkishDelight, Sabre_tooth_tigger, betteredthandead1, and many others. Sorry I can't remember your names I should have taken screen shots. Surprisingly we did pretty good both rounds finishing 2nd top squad behind the "6th devils" (those veterans). We were within their score about 1000 points. Not bad taking into account the irregularity. (lol)
Some great moments: Toothpick and Crazyhorse managed to take out an entire squad that was setting up shop on stop of a roof of those tall buildings. They spawned and they got sniped. Lesson of the day: set up your rally point in a protected area. On Al Kufrah we managed to assist the 6th by coordinating an attack on usmc main base. Unfortunately, the m1 tank protecting their base hindered our flag capture and we got taken out by spawning infantry. We were on the flag radius though. Big props to "6th Devils" for taking most of the heat south of USMC main base. In general my squad followed orders well since we managed to cap oil refinery (delay spawn works great!) before the rest of the team had left the mec main base. I need some feedback from you guys that played in my squad. Let me know what im doing wrong. |

It was fun to make my return last night. Emdek was my SL on Kufrah who filled me in on what was new and he taught me how to quickly get an apc when your about 1000m away (go up high and fall down to your death! :P) Then I joined your squad and has a ton of fun on Ejod.

Al Kufrah, MEC - "DEVILS"
|TG-6th|eGoatBoy, |TG-6th|WAREHOUSE, |TG-6th|DarkestSpade, TG-6th TheSkudDestroyer, xSCEADUx, and Nemesis123 Quote:
Major kudos to XCannon's leadership, and to his squad. XCannon took the lead and called for a combined attack which, since that seemed a terribly devilsh thing to do, the 6th were more than happy to comply! ![]() The attack was not successfull in capping the USMC out, but I suspect it created an uncomfortable moment for the USMC folks. Backed into a corner like that they came out fighting like crazy...and despite a very potent and dominate roll-out by the MEC, which pushed the USMC off of our cherished oil resources and into Village, MEC never captured their main. TheGreatNardini with his "3-man tank" squad (Sgt.Morgon & PhoenixxFire) were huge in the round...our armor guys made it possible for the infantry squads to maneuver which felt like a rare treat on these big desert maps! My "DEVILS" squad was performing fantastically and worked together very well...much thanks to: |TG-6th|WAREHOUSE, |TG-6th|DarkestSpade, TG-6th TheSkudDestroyer, xSCEADUx, and Nemesis123. We opened the round by loading up Warehouse with a H-AT kit (bad news for the USMC!!!), grabbing a Vodnik and bounding to Oil Storage. We captured it, defended, and never lost it. We had the entrances heavily mined but the USMC managed to get a hummvee rush into the flag at one point. I was really worried we might lose some of our oil so my infantry FT went to work sweeping the flag (Skud earning his keep!). Not in our house this day! Once the team had a dominant presence at Village I moved the squad north into B3. Warehouse and Sceadu provided the badly needed covering fire for that move (they were managing a tank by this time). That fight along the ridge line was a blast. The USMC caught wind of us after the combined attack at USMC main with the Irregs and they smelled blood. They chased us off the hill and to the east. Multiple times I called out "squad leader displacing east!" We conducted fighting withdrawls (I had defense markers on our RP a few times), retreats, and flat out 'run like hell' maneuvers. I did not die once the entire round, mostly due to Spade working like a madman! I had loads of fun that round. Much thanks to all the players and my squaddies for such a fun round. But then came EJOD!!! ------ EJOD, USMC - "DEVILS" |TG-6th|eGoatBoy, |TG-6th|DarkestSpade, TG-6th TheSkudDestroyer, xSCEADUx, and Nemesis123, J.Skaggs I mean...the round ended at 9 - 0 for the USMC...you just KNOW it was intense. The frontline shifted back and forth between Gardens and Gas Station and the fighting was fierce!! What an awesome round! I blew it on our roll-out from USMC Base at the start of the round...had hoped to get a humvee, then an APC, to move upfield...and ended up having to use rubber-soles for transport. Nothing you gotta love more on these desert maps as infantry is to have to cross a few hundred meters of open terrain Well, we advanced to Gas Station in relative safety, especially with our whole team in front of us! Once there the last 100m were going to be the worst...I wanted to move up to West City. We organized into a line formation and then sprint/smoked north towards the wall just south of West City from Gas Station. We did take fire, and a couple guys did go down, but the squad got there and was able to funtion since Spade continued to keep me alive and we did have an RP down (Skud would remind many times during the round that I needed to get these RPs down )After that...I don't bloody know what happened. Over an hour of gut wrenching urban combat ensued! A couple things that do stick out though...I found myself alone at West City one point, bleeding out. I was there for several seconds before I realized my squad was not! Somehow I ended up with a combat engineer kit...so i quickly set-up a C4 trap at the corner of a building and went prone. A moment later I sent a MEC trooper into orbit, grabbed his kit...he was a rifleman so I dropped ammo replenished my bandages to stop my bleeding, shot another MEC or 2, I don't know...it was desperate actions. Eventually they got me. The other thing that stands out in my mind was my squad! Everyone was doing their job, everyone was firing on all cylinders! xSCEADUx, Nemesis, and Skud were doing the heavy lifting as far as accumulated kills. Spade was our primary medic and he was outstanding! He saved my butt many times...he kept us in the fight! He finished the round with 19 revives and 23 heals! Now, what about J.Skaggs? I'm not too familiar with this player...and understand that Spade and Nemesis had been in my squad for the last 3 rounds (about 2 hours), and SCEADU and Skud for the last 2 rounds, and Skaggs just wandered in for the EJOD round. I assigned him to the tail-gunner postion and told him to make sure we did not get shot in the back or knifed. Now, if you've gamed with me you know I really don't like being shot in the back (or at all really). Point being that when I assign someone to cover the squads six, or provide exit security, I expect that role to be played seriously. Skaggs did his job the whole round, followed orders precisely, and went from being an "unknown quantity" in my mind at the beginning of the round to "totally reliable" by the end! Much appreciated work gentlemen. Apologies for the essay...but I had so much damn fun last night I figured I'd spew it out. Hope more of XCannons and my squaddies get their experiences down in this thread too! Cheers,

Re: Intense games last night Al Kufrah and EJOD 10/19
i was the guys fighting you these rounds :P
our tanks got wasted on al kufrah and then the team fell apart.... but we killed the people in our tents with theeir own G3's then went after you guys in the hills to get some revenge hehe EJOD was intense... our commander kept doing stupid things lol but my squad held the gas station so i was happy.... at one point we were completely overun with you guys swarming everywhere but my squad somehow held their tiny speck of ground behind a few sand dunes and managed to kill off the fighters... was really intense to dig in and watch all the bullets coming in on us and just staying low and holding our ground.. my squad was atlantafalcons, dbzao, spriggan and a few others... |

Re: Intense games last night Al Kufrah and EJOD 10/19
The EJOD round was exceptional, USA team fell off the map at one point but somehow regained and won the game.
That never happens with USA normally but obviously some very good squads were working well enough to defy gravity this time. Defending the last flag captured, worked well Probably the best EJOD round ever |
