Re: AAR TG vs TG internal Scrim
Haha, nothing to apologize for, I guess that your body prevented mine and drifterdave's bullits from hitting each other. You almost got me.That was me. =X sorry about that. In the middle of the square, right? Behind one of the stands
I hear drifterdave call out "-Steiner, behind you!" and I swing around and see this bearded mad man running against me with a knife. I remember thinking to myself: "-Now, this isnīt happening. I wont be knifed like this during a scrim!" Talk about unloading the entire clip in sheer panic, lol.
And please don't tell us that you only had one squad there or something. It would be too much to bare, lol. I believe that the main issue with us Brits being unable to first hold and later re-take East Tower was that we never got the drop on that Milita RP, which I am quite confident was some 150-200 meters north west of East Tower down in the valley, right? I mean, when we had finally captured East Tower [after dying and re-trying I dont know how many times] we had basically no chance of becoming organized for defence before wave after wave of Militia came at us and litterary blew us out of the East Tower. I really look forward of seeing a movie of what really went on up there. How many squads did you have there? The only time us Brits got in there I remember was when we had 2+ squads there and even that didn't last long...443.Urban Infantry Bat. / Bat. Anti-tank Platoon

Re: AAR TG vs TG internal Scrim
As far as I remember we were holding it with just 2 squads and Fuzzhead himself. You were right about the location of that RP though, we lost it once and had to return from base, that 's when East got capped.
The warrior was on top of the south east hills, I think he did a pretty good job clearing the top two floors at East Tower.
We need to do this more often, but I think our team (MEC) had a minor advantage on both maps, especially Mestia.
One funny thing I remember is when the USMC CO truck bounced over my LAT on Phoenix. I shot straight at it but he did a wheelie as he hit the train tracks and my rocket went right under him... that was soo lucky

Re: AAR TG vs TG internal Scrim
Just wanted to say thanks to all involved, that was my first scrim and despite the monumental hammering I really enjoyed it. Special thanks to all of Sword squad and our SL Khaerus who I thought was too hard on himself during and after. We had a good plan and did our best to execute it I think we just got outdone by a really good bunch of players so kudos to them. The bit I found most amusing was Sword's attempts at train on Phoenix. We were in defensive positions with MEC hitting us hard and I was getting that juddering effect ( I assume that's lag, sorry I'm a bit ignorant). Utterly disorientating, I suppose that was my comp struggling to cope with all the lead traffic coming from MEC in their hellish assault on our position lol. By the way that is not attempt at an excuse, the effect only lasted briefly. The shaking after that was player induced.
Well done everyone and once again thanks.

Re: AAR TG vs TG internal Scrim
I think that it was a case of the British infantry getting our asses handed to us over and over again that caused quite some disoritentation and disorganization. That in combination with the intense firefights that were going on in the hills and woods around East Tower probably caused most of us to not notice the support from the APC - which I now know was there. The warrior was on top of the south east hills, I think he did a pretty good job clearing the top two floors at East Tower.

It was a pleasure sharing your first scrim with you, and I will play with you any day.
And I agree with you on one thing in specific, that Khaerus were too damn hard on himself and pretty much came off like he was responisible for the failure of the entire team - which was certainly not the case.

Re: AAR TG vs TG internal Scrim
All I know is that the Militia could flow out of their RP to the NW (behind the 2 big rocks in that gully) and blast us out of East Tower and Squad 2's RP to the East any time they felt like doing so.
We were particularly screwed while they had that truck on the road North of East Tower as it could pin us in our RP while their infantry rolled over the ridge to the NW of our RP.
The only concentrated Brit movement I saw was the move towards West Tower late in the game.
Given that the published Brit plan was "Order of battle will be East Tower, West tower, Munitions Plant, Storage Bunker. If we succeed at this then how hard we push on the 3 remaining CPs will depend on ticket count and the way the fight has been going to that point. The main objective if we get Munitions and Storage will be to keep the fight contained in the north-west by keeping pressure on Perimiter Base 1."; I'd like to know why there wasn't a 4 squad/2 APC push for East Tower as we only had it capped for 3-4 minutes during the whole round.

It's taken me 18 hours to recover from the beating before I could respond

I had a blast! Thanks to everyone for organizing this event: StevieRay, eGoatBoy, Fuzzhead, and many others!
Big thanks to troublesome4u as our SL - we had a great squad, and we fought tooth and nail both rounds, it just wasn't enough to carry the day.
I'd like to do something like this again soon! Great fun!

Re: AAR TG vs TG internal Scrim
I'd also like to give thanks to the organizers as well as the members of my squad - Vegabond, Cola88, Redbeard, and Switch...all of which I enjoyed playing PR with for the first time. Definitely not one of my more stellar SL sessions but have to give our opponents kudos for just plain outshooting us. Especially those darn snipers on Phoenix.

As has been said, I'm glad we're all TG and I pity our opponents the next time we field a team together in a scrim.

Re: AAR TG vs TG internal Scrim
This was my first scrimmage with you guys and enjoyed it VERY much. Fuzzhead did a fantastic job of constantly adapting our forces to the situation at hand. I led Delta squad on MEC side and was very impressed with the quality and the teamwork ethic of the soldiers assigned to the squad. Great work guys!
On Mestia we were in the thick of it at East Tower the entire round. We did in fact have a RP placed northwest of the tower but it was not in the gully. It was a little farther on up the hill. It stayed there almost the entire round. With Fuzzhead and another squad with us at East tower, and with the communication going up and down the chain of command constantly, it was very rare for a british squad to not be located and announced long before they reached the tower.
Good fun! I will certainly sign up for the next event.

Yeah, we kind of noticed that, we recieved a very heartly welcome every time we came to visit, haha. Now, where is that that very soft pillow so that I can sit down?it was very rare for a british squad to not be located and announced long before they reached the tower.443.Urban Infantry Bat. / Bat. Re: AAR TG vs TG internal Scrim
Set up went better than I expected. I wish everyone could have made it that signed up. This was my first scrim played in or arranging. I enjoyed it as much as you all. That East Tower D was strong. Hammer squad, well, got hammered trying to get in there. When I took down the command truck, and it had little effect, I knew we were in for a fight. Good work.
Phoenix is a great map. I like the urban setting a lot. More than a few of you said that we should have done an EL BASRAH map also. I agree. Maybe next one can be set up for back to back, side switching EL BASRAH. Let me know what I can do to get that going...

Re: AAR TG vs TG internal Scrim
I had a great time it was a well planned scrim with very little (if any) technical problems and with a very high attendance rate!
Special thanks to the squad leaders I was leading they all did a fantastic job and carried our team through both maps. You guys deserved the win! HardFought, Imaword, PortableCougar, Betterdeadthanred, Sabre_tooth, way to go!
Brits/USMC put up a really hard fight, was definitely an intense battle prety much right up until the end, you never gave up and kept attacking it was great to see such spirited opponents!
My 2 funniest/intense moments was when we made the push up the center road on op phoenix, braeking through the USMC line and putting a squad on the suburbs flag, was a great rush and a risky tactic but it ended up working! Then also defending east tower, allocating the squads and giving orders and damage control, and then suddenly realizing that im the only one left alive. I kill an enemy support gunner and lay down in a corner fighting for my life lol I felt like a gang leader or something with all these crazy guys coming in trying to kill me hehe was a good laugh and prety intense!
