Combined USMC forces on Gulf of Oman WAC 3Nov at 22hGMT
I want to thank my squad - INF VOIP - and the USMC team for fighting excellently yesterday (3 Nov) on Gulf of Oman WAC at around 22h GMT on the TG server.
USMC attacked in a concentrated way capturing the beach fortifications from North West to South East, one after another in an extremely short time.
This is due IMO to the tactic of having one working APC in my team - great work mate (although I can't recall anybody's name now) - which is providing covering fire below from the shore onto the fortification while the infantry kept that APC alive and also attacked the flag.
Our first APC lasted for at least 20-30 min.
USMC got stuck while capturing the flags Hotel and Construction Site, though. Hotel was in the domain of the INF VOIP squad and we succedeed twice capturing the point.
In the end USMC won although MEC made it really hard for us to get any further after the swift capture of the beach fortifications.
After that battle I quit playing for that night; I didn't want to spoil that feeling of great satisfaction

Indeed, it was memorable. What also great to see was the air support provided by our Cobras: wave after wave the were carpeting the beach forts with rockets, clearing and preparing the ground for us.
It must had been an overwhelming experience for the MEC, they had no chance.

Johnny_B, you were an excellent SL. I was the one who ended up running the APC for most of the round, and it was working very well. All of the APCs were moving together, and, more importantly, we were being cautious. Those two things made us tough to stop. Once we got to Hotel the team kind of split, and the MEC caught on and kept a H-AT close by. I did have some support from an engy who layed underneath the APC at Hotel and kept me alive as well. That guy helped in a big way.
You are right that air support makes it happen. If the team remembers to keep the AA guns down all the time, or at least spotted so the Cobra can knock them out with Hellfires, the map goes much more smoothly. They posted in the Password Night thread in the PR forum about this same thing. Good pilots help. I believe it was slayer and TheSkilledOne. Good work.
Eight months later I finally received the reports from three peer-reviews on my latest manuscript with the University of Toronto Press. This will be my third book with the same press and the second...

Rage makes a great case for using the VR as a place for training as a sniper. Virtual training rooms for training in virtual warfare.
This post is a great TG read:
