    Flexible Squad, GER, Spies, 11/13

I only played one map all night, but it was great. I came into TS hearing people groan about who was going to lead a squad, and since I had just loaded, I thought what the hey?

'Flexible' squad quickly filled up, and I set the move marker to the rocks SE of Launch site near the ridge. Someone else was in the squad before York, but it's all a blur, maybe somebody else remembers.
We got there just before the squad from Bunkers got to the other rock outcrop due west of the flag.
For the rest of the game we stayed there and HELD.

    XCannon69 --Medic
    9mmATX --SpecOps/ Assault
    Sgt.York--Support (?)
    Milleniumchrist--Medic
    Brock_Landers--Medic/Assault (?)
    Axis--Medic

We advanced almost to the Bunker flag at times, and withdrew to the treeline near the road at others. Then swinging East to take out flankers hard against the map's edge, now turning back in a staggered line to keep the rocks to the NW under fire. This allowed cover from only the North side of the rocks for the opposition, preventing their approach from the East altogether.

They tried two Support flankers to take us out from the East, they tried AT sniping, grenade lobbing, grenade launching and (of course) sniping, but to no avail. 3-4 medics were needed to keep us breathing, and a Support and Spec Ops filled out the squad. Later I traded out the SO and one Medic kit for Assault, to respond in kind with grenades as the opposition became more desperate to stop their bleed. They briefly turned Waterfront for a minute or two, but we held our position, another squad got it back and they still couldn't get on Launch in sufficient numbers.

Staying alive to provide spawn and prevent the lengthy run from Cabins proved difficult if not impossible at times, but my Medics were all over the place.

We R dize, ALOT. Bt we R heels n rezs in timz too! Teh NME jus diz.

At one point, I was holding the SW corner of the rocks solo, and barely took out two consecutive guys with one clip. I called for backup while I reloaded, and someone was there instantly, covering me; a few seconds later a Support pack plopped down, and I was good to go.

This give, I feel, that we are being the cool sexy, like of movie star on hot action film!

My guys communicated plenty, followed directions to a T, were responsive to the conditions and enemy movement without being told what to do, and willingly died for a hunk of granite all game long, never capping a flag or going anywhere else, pretty much. It never seemed that anywhere else would be as effective as what we were doing. The enemy could attack through the trees from the hill to the N., but they knew we would push for the Bunkers if they did, or would move up to the second rock outcrop. This forced them to keep coming back to the rocks, where they just couldn't seem to get further in any significant numbers. It was hectic, and I only saw enemy soldiers up-close and personal a few times, despite large numbers and varied attacks on our position. We never had a quiet moment, which convinced me that this was an important strategic balance point from which a squad can readily defend, attack or take cover behind. We had fun, accomplished our mission, and managed to get top squad for the GER side to boot. We might have had over a hundred revives, cumulatively, by game's end.

In retrospect, I should have named the squad Inflexible. Kudos to all my squadmates! I was too amped to think of a screencap for the scores, but who cares. You guys rocked.

This map is so much fun with a good squad. Sounds like it was an awesome round!

Nudge acknowledged. Wish I could nominate for Distinguished Unit!
Oh, and I wish I could be sure who played which kit.
