    Snake Eyes 12/2/07 ~12:30 AM

Just wanted to post the first win I've seen for USMC on 64 player Snake Eyes. It was great to see the team setup during the countdown into ground and arty squads. We then decided on the south side of the beach for the team to assault together. Due to the coordination, the Outpost fell quickly into our hands in the first attack. During the course of the round, USMC kept the pressure on Ukraine mostly by keeping them down between one and three flags. This proves that solid teamwork on USMC's part can definitely lead to a victory. Excellent work.

Props to my squad consisting of Sumluv, Big Bill, NorCal, IMI-50AE, and Luuser. I concentrated on keeping the Outpost, Hotel, and Lobby under our control. IMI-50AE and NorCal was assigned to one of the Abrams tank to keep it in play and they did an awesome job. We did a lot of running back and forth, but overall a solid performance on offense and defense.

Credit really goes to IMI-50. He took all the risks and got the kills. I just did my best to keep him repaired. Highlight for me was SawViper shock paddling me and two other guys consecutively when we were caught off guard. We were cracking up and semi-embarrassed. I figure he went in to revive his squad mate, but found us hunkering down next to his fallen comrades. Instead of reviving them he paddled us. :0 Hilarious.

That was a LOT of fun. I love the atmosphere on that map so much - the opening was just epic... a huge infantry charge on the beach with shells whistling overhead... You guys at outpost didn't have a chance against the human wave - you were probably facing 4:1 numbers.

Our squad, led by Melee, spent most of the round defending motel. What a cool static that is - all CQB action... a great flag to defend.

One thing to note is that it's critical that US hold the Outpost flag. The two tanks that spawn there are so huge. It's like Powerplant was on Mashtuur, but with double tankey-goodness.

Like snow on the ground brings thoughts of St. Nick, new maps bring thoughts of Bane and his Saw. We got trounced. While there were a few squads doing pretty well, the team as a whole was just not cohesive - and when faced with the tight squads on USMC, well...

Expecting some "how to defend" to counter balance the "how to attack" post, to level things out : )

Oh man, I was hurting when I joined the game and saw that the US had already capped both beach flags. Congrats to the US side... That round was great fun, though I had to put up with Whiskey smoking me with that tank about 6 times in a row: I felt helpless and dumb at the same time. And it was all worth it, watching SViper trying to scale that wall around the back flag... I didn't even try; I never woulda made it, but Viper figured it out.

As for the "how to defend," just play the attack thread in reverse. We had played SE64 a few rounds before, and Ukes won a 350-0 round holding all flags at end. It really seems to be about that Outpost flag and keeping good numbers there.
OPS, the bacon is on you.

Here's a movie of the opening round following squad leader Mantis assaulting the Outpost on the beach. Two squads went straight for the Outpost while I took mine up the side towards the Hotel. The arty guys were doing their thing dropping shells just forward of us. However, they would later start getting overzealous and teamkilling us on flags that we were in the process of capturing. It looks like the initial Ukraine defense was pretty weak due to their lack of armor and artillery fire.
