Re: TG vs OpReal Scrim AAR
![]() First off, I'd like to thank Dirtboy for organizing the match and our opponents from Operation Reality for giving us a good match. Now to the juicy stuff. Squad 1: Dirtboy (SL), Ferris, Bernout, <1sk>Headshot, Senator Our primary mission was to hold the center of the city against advances against east city from west city and gardens. We positioned ourselves on the rooftops and were mowing down enemies left and right. We had incoming squads from both flags at a rate of about 10 troops per minute in either direction. After holding the position for at least 10 minutes, we were finally routed by a clever enemy grenade spam that knocked us all down while simultaneously neutralizing our rally point. We reset to our position just in time for the commander to order us to clear the western hills, so we proceeded across the desert and came face to face with enemy armor. We took down all the surrounding ground troops , but the armor proved to be too much for our tiny machine guns. At this point, Dirtboy respawned with the rest of the squad and moved into west city while I spawned in the western hills to harass the armor. For 10 minutes it was a game of cat an mouse, keeping the armor's eyes off of west city while dirtboy and the rest of my squad capped the flag, buying other squads crucial time to move into gardens as a pressed offensive. At this point, I was joined by squad 4's armored column and we neutralized the enemy armor and surrounding troops. I laid in wait for the enemy push back into the hills and as squad 4 moved on, an enemy AT squad came into the hills and took aim at our armor. I moved as fast as I could, taking down 3 enemy soldiers and stealing an enemy AT kit. At this point, dirtboy and the squad rejoined me in the hills, where we proceeded on a lengthy harassment of the enemy troops at north desert before moving in, capping, and making our final push to the MEC main. The US team won a hard earned victory against a very tough and determined opposition. My hat is off to each and every one of the Gentlemen on my team. Hell of a job guys, cant wait until next time!

Re: TG vs OpReal Scrim AAR
Squad 2: Defense.
Role: Sniper "Bastard Child," Heroic Medic Score: 36-10, Around 30 confirmed Sniper kills Great plan by AF Soccer, rushing the hills north of East City. Early on in the game the enemy command truck parked directly under me, so I shot the commander and got some help to blow up the CO truck. Sabre was busy taking out their APC's 2 times over. Fuzzhead and the armor squad had alot of trouble taking the West hills. Over and over I killed as many enemies as I could. Took about 3-4 tries for Fuzzhead's WAC Armor to finall push up. Eventually the enemies on West Hills saw me and wasted me 3 or 4 times. Meanwhile, Dirtboy had been holding the center of the map. I can't tell you how many guys they must have killed going up that ladder of theirs. When the time finally came to push up to gardens, East city got RAMMED by the enemy. Luckily our APC's could retake it. We capped Gardens, and by now it was over. The other team's momentum was over. Around this time Fuzzhead and the cavalry roared towards north. Dirtboy was getting slammed up thier, and even with the M40A3 and M14 in our squad we couldnt keep up with the massive flow of enemies on the open desert. The final march... Nardini's tank slowly crawled toward thier main while at least 10-15 infantry supported. Tactics, agility, and leadership as they say...

Re: TG vs OpReal Scrim AAR
Well, first off, I would like to thank everyone who stuck around of an hour. It was a miscommunication on my part.
The whole team did excellent. But what is a team without an excellent CO? AFSoccer shows his awesomeness once again, leading the team to another victory .Armor Squad: was tearing it up too. I love seeing the MiniMap and watching 2 tanks coming to aid us. My hats off to you guys. West hills was hectic, but we eventually secured them Frontline Squad: Wow, words cannot express how impressed I was. We held those roofs for a really long time. You may not realize it, but this was vital. We held infantry advancements from the west. This helped the team concentrate their efforts elsewhere. Skud: I was told by the Opreal guys that you suck . Skud, took down alot of H-AT and infantry with the sniper kit. There were too many others to compliment on, but it was an excellent job by the entire team. There is nothing more satisfying than capping them out Also, thanks for being gentlemanly about the win. There were no "pwned", "noobs", or any of that other nonsense. That is what truly sets us apart from the majority. Again, well done!Tactical Gamer-2 Operation Reality-0 |

Re: TG vs OpReal Scrim AAR
Great round everybody, despite the mix-up at the beginning I think the round went great!
The armor squad had it's work cut out for it, we had only one engineer for two tanks and the enemy's HAT and armor were ferocious, but I think we managed to keep them on their toes for most of the round while the rest of the team capped the flags. Fuzzhead was a great SL as usual and DemonsRage was spot on with the gun. although I admit it definitely wasn't my best round, the team as a whole was amazing.

Re: TG vs OpReal Scrim AAR
Squad 2 was to deploy to the north of East City and hold the high ground, cover East City and Gardens, and prevent the enemy from bringing up their forces to the fight.
I think on every count we succeeded greatly. My squad - "Defense": Sabre_Tooth_Tigger TheSkudDestroyer OlDirti Puff96734 We were to mine the area to the northeast to prevent a flank from enemy vehicles. I also assigned Sabre_Tooth to that position as the H-AT as it would provide him with the most cover and still give him shots on enemy vehicles moving from their main. I spent some time second-guessing my decision to assign Skud to a sniper or marksman kit - even questioning it just before the round finally began. I wanted him to be able to spot for Sabre and also take shots at targets of opportunity in the Gardens, as I anticipated the MEC trying to build a bunker there. Obviously, I do not regret the decision. I would act in a support role mainly, dropping bandages, acting as spawn and cheerleader and if the enemy did build a bunker in Gardens I was going to pick up a grenadier kit from our rally and mortor them. Most of our excitement took place in the first 30 minutes of the match: We were deployed to our assigned position by eGoatBoy's squad in an apc and got our kits from the APC. We were almost immediately involved in the action as 2 APCs were approaching the north side of Gardens. Sabre immediately hit one of the APCs, disabling it and forcing the other APC to retreat to North Desert. He eventually destroyed both APCs, but the real damage was removing them from the immediate battle and forcing the MEC troops to rely only on their rallies to spawn and without any type of armor support. Soon after the enemy command truck approached and parked along the north retaining wall on our position. Skud killed their commander and we proceeded to nade spam the command truck until it was disabled. I'm 100% certain that this prevented them from deploying a firebase in this area. At this point, the MEC troops were forced to run from North Desert to the Gardens, which is what I had hoped would happen. Skud then went to work on them, and then shifted his attention - with great success - to the MEC troops in the west hills. We managed to stave off one attack where a MEC squad had tried to flank us from our NE, placing a rally close to the retaining wall. With help from squad 3 we eliminated the threat, ending it when I jumped off the wall onto their rally with my knife, killing it as I hit the ground. Great fun!! Our location was compromised when a member of the MEC team joined our squad, and we were eventually rooted out. We eventually regained the high ground north of East City with the help of Squad 3, set a new rally, and then deployed to Gardens where we assisted in taking the flag. We then pushed north with the team, holding the new ground after it was capped until the day was won. I'd like to thank each of the members of my squad - everyone did a fantastic job! As I mentioned to the squad prior to the round ending, this was the first time that we've been able to execute and stick with our plan for the whole round. Hats off to AFSoccer - great job commanding and excellent strategy. Also, kudos to all of the other squads - the teamwork was great and we operated very fluidly. Special thanks to: Skud - as mentioned previously, you were a total bastard - well done! Sabre - great work on the H-AT! You had a real impact on the start of the round and really disrupted their rollout! I'm sure their plans went right out the window as soon as their APCs went down in the first 5 minutes. Dirti and Puff - great job - I know the roles assigned weren't that sexy, but you guys hung in their and executed the plan without complaint. Thank you! DirtBoy - thanks for organizing this event - it was great fun and I look forward to the next scrim. Again, well done everyone!

Re: TG vs OpReal Scrim AAR
CO's AAR
Squad 1: Dirtboy, Ferris, <1sk> Headshot, Bernout, and Senator. Great job holding the central sector and always being on the front line. By holding the center for a good 20 minutes, you allowed Sq 2 and 3 to get established in the hills and focus on their mission. Also, great job moving into the west hills to help Sq 4. It was a risky move with so few people, but because you moved quickly as a squad and were able to keep their infantry and armor occupied, Sq 4 was able to advance their tanks forward. Squad 2: d1sp0sabl3H3r0, TheSkudDestroyer, Oldirti, puff96734, sabre_tooth_tiger. Outstanding in every way. Their objective was to defend East City and the hills north of the flag to prevent enemy control of the high ground. Not only did they excel with their sniper and anti-infantry maneuvers, they also did a smash up job destroying enemy vehicles with their H-AT kit. Not only did retain control of the hills for almost the whole game, they were instrumental in capturing Gardens and then locking it down like Fort Knox. Squad 3: Goatboy, Steiner, Dick Blonov, Cola88 This squad was given the tough task of ensuring enemy infantry and vehicles didn't flank Squad 2's position, and they did it without fail. The few troops that did make it through were quickly eradicated and the squad was great at re-establishing the perimeter to prepare for the next wave of attacks. In addition to their great work with APCs and H-AT, they also stopped a critical enemy attack when we sent Sq 1 to West City and Sq 2 to Gardens. The enemy made a push on East City, but Goatboy's squad was able to regain control, which allowed Sq 2 to capture Gardens and ensured the momentum swung back in our favor. Squad 4: fuzzhead, DemonsRage, Portable.Cougar, Masterjack, GreatNardini. The armor squad had a tough mission, and that was to gain/maintain control of the west hills with very little support from the rest of the team. Although they had tough resistance for 3/4 of the match, they did a good job at keeping the pressure on. As mentioned in the above post, it was a back-and-forth fight, but ultimately their efforts allowed us to capture West City and Gardens, which secured the fate of the game. Squad 5: Elwenil Elwenil was the unsung hero, having to fulfill the inglorious position of CO support, but not once did I have to look for assistance or wonder where he was. He was always ready and waiting to construct support structures, mine choke points, repair our tanks, and defend flags. My hat is off to this guy! Overall, exceptional job by everyone. You all had very critical roles and each had to be successful for the whole mission to be a success. Thanks again to Dirtboy for arranging the scrim and thanks to everyone who stuck around while we waited on Opreal. PS... Don't let the screen shot by fuzzhead confuse you. Opreal started with the same amount of players as we did, but they seemed to give up after our capture of Gardens. That's why they show only 13 people on their side at the end (when we took their main).

Re: TG vs OpReal Scrim AAR
Any chance of getting a hold of the enemy [OpReal] CO to hear his side of the story? What their plans were and how our own plans and positioning appeared to them.
Would be quite neat.

Re: TG vs OpReal Scrim AAR
Btw, where is the BR-file for the actual round? I found one file among the file with "TGvsOpreal, EJOD", but after watching it for over an hour did until movement stopped so did I conclude that the recording was only from we were waiting, and not from the scrim.

Squad 3 - Mechanized Infantry
|TG-6th|eGoatBoy, |TG-6th|Blonov|, |TG-6th|Steiner, |TG-Irr|Cola88, |TG-Irr|Gumball Well...I don't have much time so I'll try to keep my usual essay length AAR brief. First off though , much gratitude towards DirtBoy for organizing, and AFsoccer for commanding!! Also, thanks to Gumball for joining our squad last minute, despite not being able to complete the round. It was great to have the extra help! From my perspective we didn't see a lot of action in the first few minutes of the game...we got squads 1 & 2 to their staging points, established an "oh-crap" RP, and took up positions in the hills to the east of East City. I think the team's roll-out went very well and to our CO's design. Aside from some minor technical errors (i.e. nobody going to actually cap East City ) it was a pretty solid roll-out. BTW...I ended up sending Blonov and Gumball down to cap the flag...actually, I ended up sending those 2 guys to do a lot of things ![]() I'd say the theme of our squad quickly became set though, and that was to execute DoS Attacks against the OpFor...DoS ofcourse being Denial of aSsets We destroyed many RPs, supply crates, vodniks, APCs, and at least 1 CO truck. This is how much of our round went until the breakthrough to Gardens. Cola88 was a madman with the H-AT. A couple times the old "6th" sense kicked in and Blonov and I would break away from Steiner's location near East City and patrol out further east...we did this in an APC as well as a Hummvee at times. We've all played this game long enough to know, to get that feeling, that "hey, it's too quiet over there..." Well sure enough, each time we patrolled out there we found something that needed to be destroyed. At one point, driving out due east I passed an enemy APC inbound towards East City. I don't know how he didn't see us, but I basically hung a hard right and drove in right behind him...stopping to put some AP rounds into his back door. Goodbye APC. It was epic, right up until some fluke TK destroyed our APC and killed both Blonov and I. Fog of war...the incoming enemy APC had been detected and announced, but once it was killed the only visible APC was us, so I think we ate a rocket or something from Tigger. Once AFsoccer redeployed Sqs 1 & 2 out of the East City area the OpFor did manage to sneak some bad guys and neutralize East City. Our guys got it back, but it felt tense to me and I was seconds away from asking for help. Blonov and Gumball were the infantry killers down in the streets (and Gumball was particularly effective here) while Steiner cleared the roofs with APC fire. It was a major win for my squad to re-cap East City and I was pretty damn happy about it! The push into Gardens saw the squad going a little more conventional and operating mostly dismounted, but with ample support from the manned APCs. Fantastic spotting and identification of enemy locations allowed us to be quite effective and kudos to the whole team for spotting those bad guys out! Notable contributions: |TG-6th|Blonov - engy-extradonairre despite me running him down repeatedly ![]() |TG-6th|Steiner - he's magnificent in an APC, and prior to the scrim made the call on our SOP for fighting the APC in those damn hills |TG-Irr|Cola88 - new name "Rocket Man"!! Look at the scoreboards. This guy demoralized the MEC with his awesome H-AT skills |TG-Irr|Gumball - saved the day with his ground pounding! Anyway...so much for brief. Plane's boarding...gotta run! Cheers,

And I would like to second what DB said here above. Thanks everyone, and a excellent scrim [despite the long wait prior to it, which was none of our faults.]. Btw, I intend to make a video of the scrim [have to do some editting], so I will post it once it is done.
