7th of January showdown at Kashan.

    What an awesome round!

I was in Stickyjeans' armor squad on the us side on Kashan, about 12.00 CET. We used two tanks and an engi or two, sometimes an AA. SM's were also, elemanuel (definitely from Argentina!) who was a very effective gunner for the second tank. Sticky's tank had Trashearo as gunner, and "*soldier*". For some time, Warren was also engineer.

The match started out pretty smooth for the us side, with our tanks encountering not much resistance, and air superiority on our side with multiple A10's up and very effective use of CAS.

During the whole round our team would continue to cooperate in exemplary fashion, commanded by...it escapes me.
After killing a just a tank and some infantry, our team was ready to move on the south village.

The MEC had a surprisingly strong defense up though, that wiped out our two tanks+ a squad and choppers several times. This was also our first encounter with a tandem of tanks that were coorerating extremely well.

I was counterattacking at one time towards the south village, spotted one of them on a slope beneath me. We decided to drive around to come up behind them. Right when we were near them though, a chopper lands right on them. I think our fire alerted them. Still when I drove up we were quickly disposed of by what I thought was one tank. At this point, I started suspecting that I knew whe was running the other squad (or in it).

We had to fall back to the north and south bunker at that point, and had some trouble with the occasional Trogfoot (although Trashaero shot one of them down with the tank!). But after a while the same duel kept giong back and forth. Us

    against them.

(Fuzz's squad, driving away from an incoming JDAM that just missed em

Meanwhile the rest of the team was fighting a fierce battle over the bunkers with all the bells and whistles you could want.

In the end we were able to perhaps get the upper hand on the center of the map again when we drove around the north to their side of the complex and got to get some nice end of map kills.

We were trying to get 10000 points at that point, but I think we missed it by a few hundred.

The game felt very balanced, even though the ticket count in the end wasn't. This is the kind of game I love. A good contest, good teamwork on both sides, and every (legal!) trick in the book used. GG to everyone that made this round work, and especially to the enemy armor squad and our CO.

I got confirmation that it was indeed Fuzzhead and his squadmates that opposed us in the tanks, by seeing his squads' score match ours in the loading screens (one guy with 0 kills and lots of points followed by his guner with lots of kills and points).

My squad was Squad 9. It was an Infantry squad. We were ferried between North Bunker and South Village while Squads 2/4 kept South Bunker in check. We did not get the big points......BUT we did call 2 JDAMS....and 8-9 CAS strikes.

A big thanks to Vlexo, Jarilus and a few other brave Blackhawk Pilots who ferried us about relentlessly. Fuzzhead's tank squad REALLY annoyed us at South Village. At one point, we were seconds away from graying it before 3 T90's showed up. We never got that flag. We went to South village with Blackhawk Pickup and all 5 times. Hilarious assaults.

    "Enemy Tank!"---SM
"Pretend its not there and RUN!"---ME

Also, singing "Row row row your boat gently down the stream" while HMMVing to South village and reminiscing about how BFV had music made the bumrush assaults worthwhile!
Big thanks to Blackhawk pilots....my random squad of ragtags and to Cpt.Rat Bastard for getting us out of many hairy situations with his awesome CAS.

Big thanks to the Commander....Onemanwreckingcrew. I still remember him yelling at me (The Australian accent made it funny) when my squadmate unintentionally blasted his head off at point blank range. He co ordinated all that CAS stuff very nicely. He also came down personally to watch the JDAMS

Also: In Al's third screenshot....Fuzz's tanks were missed by a JDAM. I called that JDAM and I cannot describe in words how annoyed I was when they moved RIGHT before it hit....Explosion was pretty though . We ended the 3 hour round by letting off some steam. We went to the top of the North Bunker started throwing smoke, flashing each other, dancing and having a bunker party for the last 2 minutes.

yea you guys all did a kickass job!!!! kudos to your commander for sticking it out for the whole round! we had about 6 commanders, at times that position felt like a revolving door hehe

our tank squad was really on the ball and they did a great job, i would be happy to serve with these guys in armor again any time!

hahhaha that jdam freaked us out, we had no idea we were being targetted, but we saw the frogfoot and it spooked us a bit to take cover, just some dumb luck that we missed that strike hehhe ^_^

yea biggayal some good tank battles, felt like a chess match at some points, manuevering our units into good positions and anticipating your next move

overall your team just had more coordination thanks to the efforts of your commander, you guys deserved the win!

thanks for the AAR it was great read i should post some of these as i have had numerous amazing rounds, actually most rounds are prety awesome ive only had a handful of bad ones so far (usually when there is no commander).
