AAR: 1/7 - POE: A Welcome Home ~23:15 - 01:16 EST
After a non-vacation at the in-laws, last night saw my return to gaming. After getting pummeled in the year 2142, I decided to try my hand at POE. That had to be my best decision of the night.
Round 1 - Assault On Odessa Hard liquor sounded good so I hitched a ride in the 5th's own cptCuervo. Joining us was the 12th's jb4, Jimmy_Jr, Ristin, & thagoat. We spawned "Apartment Building" and headed out to take "Housing". When we got to the flag, the USMC had already moved on. We capped the flag a set a defense. All was going well until Whiskey showed up in a tank. Whiskey's tank kept us tied up long enough for his squad to take us down. We spawned on the flag and recovered it for a time. This time the USMC brought more armor that spelled our doom.Round 2 - Dnipro Round 3 - Raid On Kerch

Your squad was battling my inherited one on Odessa. We wanted to move up but you guys kept hitting that backflag. Eventually we just stayed there to defend but the rest of the team couldn't take another flag near the end.

Re: AAR: 1/7 - POE: A Welcome Home ~23:15 - 01:16 EST
draeh, those were very competitive rounds and I enjoyed them very much.
Assault on Odessa In Cuervo's squad we had a lot of action at Housing and that flag never really seemed "secure" for either side. When we started working from Junkyard we were having a heck of a time moving north. Between the squad that was spawning at the crane and attacking Junkyard and Whiskey's defensive tank driving on the tracks near Housing, we were in the middle of it. I really enjoy it when a squad sticks together, keeps communicating and grinds it out. Dnipro I joined up with Ristin and had some fun in the Tiger but our good time was spoiled by Ishotcha doing attacking loop de loops in a plane near AA nest and then Magonushi on a Hind RAGE followed up by Mantis spraying down AA near town. We decided to get out of the helo and go harrass Mantis and company at the town. Project did a nice job as roaming spec ops on the southside for defense. I decided to go sniper and harass Mantis which was fun for a few minutes until you realize that if you get him riled up your are just going to get spanked. I think he parked a Dozer on my head to make his point. lol Raid on Kerch I had a great time in that squad. Everybody quickly followed your orders, kept communicating, spotting, and supporting each other. We repelled several attacks from all directions in that round. I am sure it is not the first time it had happened, but it was the first time I had seen infantry get dropped on the building overlooking Slums. Annoying at first because it seemed to keep a flow of enemy troops coming into the area, but we adjusted and kept them at bay. Through sticking together, were were able to hold off some good attacks by some tough squads. I am glad to see that we are having more battles like these on the the server lately. It is also great to see how many new faces are sticking with it and becoming quality players. Good stuff. Last edited by jb4; 01-09-2008 at 03:17 PM. Reason: sp |

Near the end, we had AT's that got really good at hitting the choppers as they hovered to drop people off. One of the Blackhawk pilots was on TS screaming, "When I tell you to get out, GET OUT!". This after they had been blown to bits several times.

Yeah the LB droping guys off on teh roofs was me.. and many times i missed and dropped my squad to their death but we kept going back cuz we were laughing so hard i couldn't tell them we need a new spot :P
The team defending slums did a great job near the end with rockets keeping my squad down. |
