Jabal Al Burj - Sunday Night PR ~11pm EDT

    Al Kufrah, MEC - "RECON"
    |TG-6th|eGoatBoy, -dEpRaVe-, B.Brix

I decided to run a small-teams squad tonight after P/W night...so I created squad 5 and locked it as soon as 2 people joined it. Of course, aside from the squad name, my two troopers had no idea how busy we would be It's at this point I have to shout-out to dEpRaVe & Brix, and say these two guys were lethal tonight. They did the devil's work upon the USMC tonight

Kit-out for our round was primarily combat engineer, occaisonal L-AT, H-AT, and rifleman for ammo support.

    >> Mission List <<

Below is the mission list that our squad executed on tonight, in chronological order. Notes regarding each mission accompany:

    DA01 - fast cap
    - Vodnik to BRIDGE and cap as soon as rest of team has WEST & EAST AL BURJ
    - capped prior to arrival of enemy humvee (engaged with and disabled with our Vodnik's .50)
    - withdraw when APC arrives...totally outgunned

    DA02 - protect flank
    - Establish vehicle traps (mine + C4) in south-east F5 to slow/interfere with USMC vehicles moving on BRIDGE
    - fail to report vehicle trap to CO and warn team, and friendly squad rolls into it and dies on mine (4 TK's)...sometimes a red skull is not enough

    CA01 - firebase 1
    - Request, and establish a firebase in east F5 to provide reinforcements for defense of BRIDGE
    - requested and received build order, set-up firebase, and drop supplies from support truck
    - relocate support truck

    DA03 - lockdown the road
    - Build minefield on north/south road from EAST BEACH to BRIDGE
    - 6+ mines layed
    - advise CO through voip, and team through chat of minefield

    SR01 - pave the way
    - Sweep for enemy RPs in buildings at east F5, harass enemy APCs with rocket fire
    - enemy RP found/destroyed, enagage APCs
    - hilarious TK due to 'learning curve' on new H-AT dynamics

    DA04 - counter attack
    - Rapidly redeploy to canyon north of BRIDGE to search and destroy enemy RPs being used to attack BRIDGE
    - Flank, engage and kill infantry in canyon and on BRIDGE
    - 4 infantry killed, and RP destroyed, no casualities
    - displace as soon as evident that regular forces now in control

SR02 - pave the way pt. deux
    - Establish observation point in G7, ambush enemy APCs with C4, report on enemy assets in EAST BEACH
    - attempt superhuman flank attempt on 2 APCs with C4
    - CP is well populated with assets

    SR03 - target rich
    - Relocate to G8, establish observation point and report on enemy at EAST BEACH
    - CP is fortified, lot's of hardware but light on infantry
    - displaced RP and then operated off firebase to the north for awhile
    - wanted no activity to be seen by OpFor in area of our rally prior to our raids
    - prior to raid, observe and wait until safe to cover open terrain

    DA05 - soften the beach
    - Stage raids on enemy assets in EAST BEACH
    - Destroy enemy bunker, command post, support vehicles, hummvees at EAST BEACH, engage infantry and APCs
    - enagage a landing UH-60 with rocket fire
    - engaged APCs at point blank with L-AT fire
    - end up destroying bunker and command post twice
    - relocated rally in a ditch due south of CP as close as possible to keep pressure up
    - got lucky and "one-shotted" a guy on a .50 in a humvee who came hunting us...nice
    - captured enemy engineer kit for extra "boom" power
    - truly epic moments that were the pinnacle of my squads ops on this map

    DA06 - regain bleed
    - Participate in capture of EAST BEACH
    - friendly vodnik rolls in after we destroyed assets, looked like a single MEC soldier
    - the 4 of us, my squad + vodnik guy cap the flag
    - dreaded APC comes back and pushes us off
    - we now have the lead again though...

    >> Lessons Learned <<
    - advise your team of minefields...do not assume the red skull is enough
    - break contact as soon as you know you are out gunned
    - displace your RP if you think there is any chance the OpFor may know it's location
    - protect your assets
    - teamwork is the best weapon around

While I was on we had some commander issues and there was poor coordination and my squad received almost no orders so we did the best we could. I think our little 3-man team earned it's keep tonight...and if we didn't, well I had a heck of lot of fun.

    Cheers,

    eGoatBoy,
brilliant... <bowing before your greatness, no kidding> Really good write up, thanks. I really appreciate the work put into this, both the in game actions and the post game remarks. I know PR is a different breed of monster, but write up like this, help me learn to squad lead better in POE. and props to your squad for working together, even a smaller unit and making things happen. I've tried to do this in POE, and its tougher. smaller squad sometimes get lost, or become run and gun.

    thanks,

Got to playing around and made a video of the above action. My first attempt at a video so don't expect much:

    Excellent AAR.

I am going to have to use yours as a model the next time I submit one, it got right to the point and I like how you categorized your actions.

Next time i know its your 3 man squad frustrating the heck out of me, i will personally setup a bounty on you! Great job though!
