PW night, 02.03.08
First full nights play, and all in all, im impressed. Have a few observations though
1) The M16. Its still my least favourite weapon. So inaccurate and underpowered, it fires the NATO standard 5.56mm round, but the british SA80 is far superior. Even the smaller calibre Chinese weapon is more powerful IMO. 2) The drop and shoot mechanics. These i welcome, but are hard to get the hang of. EG, if im prone, and an enemy stunmbles into my path, and i open up, i rarely get the first hit, it almost seems as if the round trajectory is down to chance a bit?anyone else?iv been owned by people who drop and shoot, even when im already prone.... Last night was great, though i was way of the mark. Only map i was effective on was Ghost Train before PW started, but im looking forward to more and more maps! Saw some old familiar faces and some new impressive ones, and it was good to get to roll with some guys from various IHS's, especially the new ones! Some mechanics of the game i still have to work on, and get my MIC sorted, Stupid xfi card.....Also, im losing key packets....but using the ethernet cable seems to improve the situation until i can afford a new router! Hoping for more, and an improvement to my once average twitch skills!

Re: PW night, 02.03.08
Let me give you some pointers Jeepo. I'mstill a crappy shot, but that's mostly because i'm always looking on my map and such when the enemy sniper wants to show me some love.
AFAIK: Generally think of shooting rifles a bit liek shooting the H-AT. Once you sprint, your acuracy is way down. But even if you just walk, your accuracy is way down. The only time you have good accuracy is when you have been standing still for about three seconds. If you imagine a real person stopping, bringing the rifle up, finding a target trough a scope, then you'll be in the right mindset to hit targets more regularly. Shooting while moving is not for anything over the 5 to 7m range. So -> Stop-Aim carefully-Fire. Crouch is your friend. This is the best position to shoot from most of the time. Especially on hills under fire you best shoot from crouch or standing position imo. Then under fire you can crouch or go prone to take cover. This avoids getting pinned down while prone without a viable way to get to cover. Now when you go from prone to crouch, or stand, your gun wiggles a bit. That is an advantage for sooting from standing position. When standing you can crouch to cover and stand to engage without the "gunwiggle" delay. If the enemy is looking at you this is the difference between life and death. If you were standing still, from crouched cover, you can stand and have 100% accuracy immediatly. This is the only way to get 100% afaik. One vital detail: Do not EVER use the jump button to move to a higher stance!!!! Use the crouch or prone button instead. You can easily test this with the HAT. If you are prone, and you press the prone or crouch button, you will change stance without losing accuracy, as shown by the yellow markers. IF you press jump to stand up now, your accuracy drops to "drunken blind man". It is only logical to assume that the game mechanic is the same for gun or H-AT accuracy .
