Re: After action
Thanks to Project, mantis and Khaerus for putting it together and stepping up with strats etc.
It was a great scrim and i had lots of fun and looking forward to the next one! Things that we could improve on have been mentioned like getting everyone to show up/or full teams consistent through the scrim and better strat prep time. But nothing's perfect, well done all!

Also, thanks to those who I managed to shock paddle on Kerch. :P I did hit my screenshot key but fraps didn't take them for some reason.

Re: After action
My cable went down in the beginning of second round. I tried rebooting my modem, but the problem was not on my end. I'm glad to see everyone had a good time. I can't wait for the next one.

Re: After action
I should thank JB4 and Bernount especially for the great squadleading they did our our side, and Belhade for COing when we went that direction on the last round of Kerch. I think our guys displayed great flexibility (and were rewarded for it on the Kerch rounds.)
My only real regret is that I didn't take my squad and convert us to a complete air squad on the Dnipro rounds. Saitch pointed out the reasons why it might have been nice... We did convert Blonov to a Tiger pilot on the second round, and maybe I should have jumped in the Eurofighter earlier- Like Mantis said, it was no surprise that he was gonna be wreaking havoc in that Hind. I just felt we could weather the storm (and we did come close to doing so in the second round.) I thought my 3-man squad would best serve our side by distracting the other side long enough to make things easier on the AirNest and PowerStation squads. I don't really know if it was working that way, but I think it helped a bit. Poor JB at the PowerStation was bored for a while, I think, so it must have been working a little.. ![]() It was strange the way both teams took both rounds of a map each. The Kerch rounds were a blast for me- As the Ukes, we had full squads at Distro and Slums, and Blonov, Belhade and I tried to hold keep for a while- when we lost that, we just did split-squad D duties for the other guys- I think we eventually lost Slums, and then Bernout re-took the keep, right? As for Kerch with us attacking- that was kind of exciting in the first minute- we sent 2 hawks to the distro from the NorthEast. I remember coming in, seeing the defenses concentrated on the North side of the buildings (the Humvee was out there, and that's what I was worried about.) Anyway, there was nobody in the courtyard on the flag, so that's where I dropped my guys... After that cap, we took slums and rode the bleed- we never assaulted the keep at all, and Belhade stepped up and did a great job CO-spotting for us to hold on to the win. Anyway- yeah, a little more time for planning and more roster stability would have been good, but it went off fairly well as it was. |

Re: After action
Really enjoyed the "Marathon" scrim. It can be a bit unpredictable with last minute player changes or unexpected video card crashes during the countdown clock (bad luck Ikonic), but that challenge of flexibility just adds another layer of suspense. It is what it is and we had to make the best of it.
Many thanks to Khaerus, Project and Mantis for getting this off of the ground and running. It takes time and effort and the community as a whole really appreciates what you did. First round on Dnipro was tough. We got to the point and we were eaten alive by the Eurotiger. We almost had it on the second attempt and got it neutral but the GER really dug in. The air and armor reinforcements were just too tough. Second round we dropped into Power and held it. We never had much of a threat from infantry or armor. We did get a lot of Hind fly overs from Mantis and Thedogwarrior. More of the action was definitely at Town. Looking back, I should have provided you more AT support on the bridge between Power and Town to keep less URK armor rolling over. We had overwatch on the road and I should have ordered more mines on the road there. Generally, that round was much closer. Both Kerch rounds were great fun. We had solid D as UKR and I agree that the dual chopper landing at Distribution as the US was key to getting off to a solid start. After we secured that point and then Slums after, we had a chance to dig in. Infantry has to cover a lot of ground from the Keep to assault either point and we had great defensive communication. Having Belhade flex into CO mode really helped us with spotting and coordination. Thanks again Khaerus for leading up the Teleprompters and to all the guys in my squad: The Skud Destroyer, Shiner, SgtHoman, Namebot and Belhade (1st round). Good times. |

![]() Oh yes...jb4's post reminded me I was remiss in pointing out my squad mates: DrunkenPirate, Saitcho, Undead77, Squinty, and MrBbq (joined us on Kerch although I think we may have lost Undead on that map). Bernout |

Re: After action
I think for a short period of time The Keep was captured by a solo individual when it was left unguarded and only had a commander was in there. I remember hearing chat about it, but forgot who it was. My squad was on the border between the two points when Slums changed. We went back to recapture it, as did your (Bernout) squad. I think you or Belhade said "nice job on getting Slums back, oh wait, we lost it again, but we got Keep?" lol
Slums was recaptured once and for all and the Keep lost again. |

Re: After action
Sure, it may have been neutral at best. I thought it was odd because we were not focusing on it in light of the pressure on Slums with the point flipping back and forth at that time.

Re: After action
Well, my Baseball draft went well... but damn those ending stats look light on the kills.
![]() I'll try harder to pad those numbers for everyone next time around, and be able to make it in. I've been crazy sick all freakin' week, and not hitting the POE at all, that and researching for Fantasy Baseball season. I hope maybe this week, the cold breaks and I can take some bullets for y'all. thanks for the after reports. -pb

Re: After action
It was late in the round and I was running a patrol west of the slums and decided to try to put some pressure on the keep. It was defended by C4 so I did my best movie running jump off the ledge as it turned knowing mantis would blow the c4 and I managed to survive only to fall to his nade from above a few seconds later.
Really appreciated the games and great job as SL jb4.

I didn't play this game but can mention that Dnipro has Eurofighter for Germans-it is almost invincible and can easily control any Hinds in sight as well as support ground forces by bombing and suppress all stationary AA. So u had to control mantis. As far as I can remember Axis, Iconic and especially Namebot are great pilots . Actually I love berezan for being able to oppose Mantis in the sky . He is always somewhere high waiting for my missiles.
