I still don't understand how you got that score Big-Eye grrrr you stole my top medic spot :-(, at least I revived more than you :-p

For half the match he only had 3 squad mates to revive, had we a full squad I'm quite confident he would have had twice the revives . No need to apologise Grunt spending quality time with your kids far outways playing any game.

My apologies especially to the organizers of this event and all who stepped up to command or lead a squad. I love scrims and I'm bummed I missed it but at least I wasn't just boob toobing it.
No worries. I've almost forgot about scrims before. And I was a CAPTAIN. Whoo...

Extra congrats to Drifter Dave for improvising and picking up a major SL position without question.

I want to thank everybody that participated in this outstanding scrim. I enjoyed every single minute of it! Especially Imnotacanadian for stepping up for the MEC team, you did a great job commanding.

Wish I recorded more videos of my CAS squad 's airstrikes but I was too focused on lasing the targets so all I got is this one:

    Kashan, MEC - "6XXX"
    |TG-6th|eGoatBoy, |TG-X| |cemanGER, |TG-X|Bamboo, |TG-X| ||PANCHO||, fruxxxo, <<R2>> alaskanassassin

Squad 2 of the MEC team was essentially a 5-man team. We started out with fruxxo in the squad but lost him sometime between 2:19 & 2:10 on the clock, which was shortly after alaskanassassin joined.

Our squad's opening role was to work with Sq3, Belhade's squad, in capturing South Village. The plan was to do this as quickly as possible, and with armor support. Initially the plan called for us to operate from B7k2 but I made a pregame request of our CO imnotacanadian to work out of C7k5 instead.

This put us farther from Belhades squad, but I think gave our two squads better opportunities for cross fire since we were essentially attacking from 90 degrees apart. Also, luckily, the defenders sent a marksman up into the hills on start and managed to run right into us...5 on 1 normally has a predictable outcome and I'm glad we didn't have to be subjected to sniper fire from the hills. Bamboo went to work right away destroying armor and hammering the USMC firebase that was on the NE side of South Village. Pancho had the long gun and provided great overwatch intel and cover. |cemanGER, fruxxo, and myself made a couple runs down the hill into the village to try and capture it, but w/out the armour it was not happening to quickly. 38 miuntes into the game South Village was ours. Crazy fight, and 'tenacious D' by the USMC.

After that, we relocated up to the bunkers. It was kind of funny, but before the game started we were joking over comms that "it was all about Bamboo". Well Bamboo played a pivotal role in the round by keeping with H-AT for almost the entire game and working distanced from our squad. Not only did he wipe out many vehicles (many kudos to Turkish for some awesome resupply runs), but we were also getting great overwatch intel at the bunkers about armour threats, infantry movements, and incoming technicals. It was a huge advantage to have early warning on almost every attack. So even though Bamboo was hundreds of meters from the squad, he was managing to contribute signifcantly to our infantry ops.

The fighting at South Bunker was pretty intense, up until the last 40 tickets or so when we got super-conservative. The squad did a great job in the repeated attacks, defenses, and counter attacks. Everyone did a great job on comms and that was huge.

    Notable contributions:

    |TG-X| |cemanGER - outstanding medic work with and several clutch revives. Also a solid shooter.
    |TG-X|Bamboo - a total madman with the H-AT kit. Also provided great intel.
    |TG-X| ||PANCHO|| - great overwatch and intel in South Village, and solid combat work in the bunkers.
fruxxxo - "cover that corner!" Our CQB workhorse in South Village.
<<R2>> alaskanassassin - solid shooter and a combat workhorse for us in the bunkers! (sorry 'bout all that bathroom duty...)

Just a curious factoid/statistic, but I noticed in my screen caps that Charity's squad, Sq1, and ours had nearly identical performance. These numbers are with about 4 minutes left in the game:

Lastly, much thanks to the organizers and admins for making this happen, and to imnotacandian and Charity for all the work they put into organizing the MEC team!

Squad 2, of Team Bravo, the 'Six Triple X' squad stands for inspection:

    Cheers,

Nice AAR's! I don't think I have ever had more intense moments flying the choppers than in this scrim! I was crapping my pants on every Trans run to S. Bunker. I had to deploy set after set of flares just to keep from getting locked. Even then I still got missles fired at me quite frequently

Even though I died a few times, I can say that I only lost a crew once(I think) when transportin Belhade's squad in a hot LZ.

I hope that I provided smooth transport to those that had enough faith to ride with me.

Good job, all of you, on both sides

hey guys great scrim.... i had to leave for work which i knew i had to do but was hoping the battle didnt last as long as it did (late start didnt help either hehe)

so anyways we were down by like 30 tickets when i left, can anyone fill me in on what happened??? It was a deadlock between the 2 bunkers and the frogfoot was devastating our armor support! What happened that turned the tide and won the USMC victory?

Yes, for some reason there was 20+ people missing when the scrim had to start .

Not sure what went wrong on our side... we were ahead by 20-30 tickets most of the game but the tickets got equal at 50. Then our frogfoot went down and we somehow lost with 17 tickets.

Well, we stopped throwing ourselves and our tickets away on South Bunker and played defense at North. What really put is over the top was some very skillful work by our A-10, with Rat_Bastard killing tons of enemy armor with everything he had. The coup de grace was our JDAM on South Bunker - I heard it took out at least 8 guys and their bunker. I then got some good intel on their new bunker and put a GPS spot on it that Rat hit - I think that did some damage as well, but I still need to review the BR file.

It was a very, very tense game and both sides played well enough to win. I think it truly brought out the best in TG and showed off what a great community of very skilled players we have.

    Re: PR Internal Scrimage 3/29

As usual I didn't take any worth while screenshots, i think i have one of my squad, and if it saved, i will post it when I get home, but here is my long AAR report, hope you enjoy it and once again thanks Disposable for putting up with me and leading us to VICTORY!!

I was the SL of Squad 1, which was dubbed "Mech Inf" and "Squad 1." Our task was to setup a strong perimeter around south village, setup a RP shovel the FB, and have an apc crew support Squad 3 in setting up ambushes.

My hat is off to those H-AT crews on the hills of the radio tower......you guys really did an excellent job in creating some frustration to use grunts on the ground.

I was fortunate to have Steiner, Tralic Force, Disciple and SD03 justin, and Trilata (CHN). We held South Village as long as we could, I think alone i emptied more than 16 clips of ammo even at times just firing random 3 shot bursts at the hills in hopes of messing up a H-AT line of sight and a snipers birds eye view of the surrounding city.( I am most likely wrong but I, it sure felt like that much)

Disciple was my personal medic and accounted for 22 revives, I wasn't planning on having a medic in the squad at first but his request to be one, was in the end well warranted and I am glad he did it. Because those 22 revives could have been 22 points lost for the USMC.

After pulling back from south village we setup a rally in the east hills, and were using 2 apc's to cover infantry at south bunker....unfortunately they were taking out, but we shrugged it off and got to some good ground pounding. I for most of this engagement was in the hills trying to do my best at not annoying disposable completely, ha, and trying to laser targets for our fearless A-10 pilot (though i will say there was a laser bug toward the middle and the end, it just would lock on, It was definitely a MEC scrambling trick, or the batteries needed to be changed)

I did at one point get into a little nade fest with a lowly MEC rifleman, who got me, and then my nade got him or he bled out, in the hills i was also able to destroy some supply crates before the MEC team could setup a firebase, and i also stole a HAT kit from a lowly un-protected MEC soldier, who even though I was bleeding out was able to use the kit to the best of my ability, and made sure that when i did in fact die, there was no ammo left.

We even managed to setup a FB in the east hills that lasted quite awhile and alleviated some strain on the bunkers and FB in the bunker vicinity, but after awhile and with the recommendation from our fearless commander Disposable who did an excellent job and kept his temper very calm and relaxed suggested in a way only a general could, that i regroup with my squad and get ready to hit the dirt.

It was this time that I could see and hear the bullets whizzing by, I setup a Rally on the west side of the complex, and knew that, we were no longer the "Mech Inf" Squad we were known as in training, we were now the fearless "Squad 1" that would at all costs not let north bunker be taken, while striking fear into the war mongers who tried to shoot and throw rocks at us. The fight was coming to us, and as Marines we knew how to take it to them and to the limit.

I want to commend Disposable on making the right call at the right time. As the tickets on each side moved closer towards a tie, aka as the Marines made the gap smaller and smaller Disposable made the decision to pull everyone into a defensive perimeter around north bunker. This was the catalyst that proved to be nail in the coffin (along with rat’s fearless A-10 gun runs). It was a this time that my squad lost tralicforce due to an unseen consequence lag/comp problems = equal gaming death. I myself experienced this problem, crashing to desktop, however I was able to rejoin my squad and knew even though I was gone for minutes that they would be ok with disciple trading his medic pack for an officer kit and steiner and the rest of the guys holding their foothold.

It was at this point I saw some MEC infantry trying to pull the ol’ Texas Two step, I.E. trying to flank behind south bunker and move up towards north bunker on the east side of the compound, I wasn’t having it and even though I felt as if I was in the climax of the movie platoon, I spread my guys out thin but told them to put on three shot burst, and keep the enemy suppressed.

During this time and before we managed to take down a few enemy RPs and even a FB, but now as the tickets wore thin, we had to do what marines do best, hunker down and hold the line. Trilata was able to take out an APC with a perfect H-AT shot, so not to put our A-10 in harms way, Disciple revived me, and saved my life while using up his own, and steiner and justin held the SE side, while I along with Disciple guarded Trilata in the corner of the bunker outside as if he was in fact the “Golden Child.” At one point I was over-excited and afraid of him getting hit that I yelled at him, my apologies for that.

Then the tickets went down, and then there was 2, RatBast*rd took some a-10 Shots and his strafing runs helped make it go down, and then in a scene out of Vanilla, there was one lowly sniper everyone had eyes on. In a way of all the squads knowing the end of the MEC reign of terror was almost over, we banded together and all opened fire on this sniper, hoping we would get the final kill and seal our victory on the Desert of Kashan.

In the end after a tough gritty battle, once again we heard the sound of the electric Guitar playing in the background, playing our song, The Star Spangled Banner.

The MEC team fought well, and they died a good death.

    VICTORY IS OURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to disposable and Imnotcanadian to stepping up and taking command, hopefully this is not the last time I see either of you in this position, because I know how disposable is a closet commander junkie!!

Great job all around to all Squad Leaders and members both foreign and domestic.

I remember fighting a lone US soldier in the hills north-east of the bunker complex. At first we were shooting at eachother but it ended up in a nade fest which I eventually won... without bleeding out. I then ran up the hill only to find a second US soldier looking at North Bunker... for a second I thought I 'd knife him, but I didn't want to take an unnecessary risk and took him out with a clean headshot. Those were my only two kills during the scrim I reckon .

We too suffered from bugs, where our Frogfoot spent 10 minutes trying to reload his Laser Guided Rockets (everything else reloaded cept these) and where two 500 pound bombs hit the firebase north of South Bunker without doing any damage... 3 very frustrating events .

    Re: PR Internal Scrimage 3/29

I remember that, Ghost. I tried everything to get my Frogfoot to reload it's Hydra Rockets. I fired off some gun to spark a reloading, didn't work. I got out and got back in, didn't work. In the end, I decided to fly without the rockets. The two bombs that landed right on the firebase, killed all enemy infantry around it, but didn't kill the actual firebase was actually not my run. Smoking was taking a turn with the Frog, and I have to say I was very disappointed when that base didn't go down. Oh well, nothing works perfectly on the battlefield.

I'd like to thank Ghost for his superb laser targets during the scrim. Couldn't have done it without you man.
