4/9/08, approx 11pm EST - Berezan Island

USMC

I decided I'd take a turn at SL. Started a Squad called JETERsQUAD. A little play on Derek Jeter's Quad injury. it was lost in the no lowercase letters in squad names, my bad.

anyway...

as usual, I was without a writing instrument, and don't have everyones names. Some I recognized <TNT> FUDD, 'SWAT12447' (sp?), Thump3r, Dreah, & (sorry, who did I miss?, chime in and let me know).

OK spawned Beach. I had one thing in mind, get Light house, hold Light house no matter what. We jumped in a hummer, and drove along the top of the western ridge, and hit on Lighthouse. Cap'd pretty quickly and easily. I held out down to the far south, in the bunkers until we were pretty sure it was clear. At most times, we had someone in the AA, someone on the stationary missile launcher, and someone in the tank (getting wiped out by helo / air). I had eyes watching the road that goes north to camp, and several eyes NW to listening post.

I was really proud of this squad. We never had the flag drop below half mast on our watch. A couple assaults came in against us, but the worst problem we had was with the helo attacks. They were simply annoying. :P

Light House was the only flag that was held by the USMC. We were down to the carrier and the lighthouse more than a few times. and we lost pretty badly, but I applaud the boys of Jeter's Quad.

Thanks for your efforts.

As usual, the person giving us the most trouble was Mantis. I think he hung out high in the clouds watching his mini-map just waiting for the Lighthouse tank to go active before beginning his bombing run. Like clock work, someone would hop in the tank and 30s later the bombs came raining down on our heads.

That was a pretty fun round overall. I was on the other side and running a squad that ended up doing Beach defense for most of the round. We did do some attacks against the flags north and east of there when they were lost but nothing down south. That's unfortunate because it sounds like it would have been a good challenge.

I swear, my only deaths that entire round had your name on them. Every couple of minutes, "You were killed by Mantis."
