Another great Kerch round. Tuesday night.
Good god man!!! What a fantastic, and i mean fantastic, round on Kerch tonight.
CO: DSMX
Squad UKR: BACONFAT
SL: HiTest
SM: Rockford
SM: Anvil
SM: Van Deutch
SM: Invisible
SM: York
Objective: Hold Slums
At start, we set up defense with emphasis on the north east waiting on any boats approacing from their Main Base. We really didnt see much action until Gahlas, flyin a Blackhawk dropped off a wave of people. Khaerus jumped out of the helo behind the southern Slums wall while Gahlas continued to drop multiple people on the roofs. We had a little firefight on our hands. The enemy broke thru and started to work on the flag . To no avail. My squad collapsed onto the flag and took out all comers, i believe two full squads.
At this moment the USMC took keep. My orders were for Rockford, Invisible and York to work on the western front making sure no Marines left Keep and headed for slums. Van Deutch was parked in the road with a Dozor and just rained metal on any fool that left Keep.
At this point things were looking real good. Crap! We just lost Commercial center. At that moment my orders were for Anvil and Invisible to set up D North of Slums and lend support for another squad. Damn, they got behind them. No problem, I had my squad fall back on the flag and get ready for a fight. Mantis and his crew were coming.
What ensued is the reason i play this game. The USMC came barelling in on our western flank. The quickly got inside on the radius. I was a little slow reacting to this flanking maneuver but my squad quickly reacted and hit the flag hard. York came hauling butt in a Dozor and started really wrecking the place. We had all but one dead and the lone survivor was Mantis. He started dropping C4 inside the building and caused havoc for my squad. This gave the other team plenty of time to come to their rescue. We eventually lost the flag and spawned at Disco. Major props squad on that valiant effort.
We immediatley went right back to Slums to get that dang flag back. Another intense battle was about to stare us in the face. This time we had a little help from another squad. We pushed hard from the west and almost re took the flag until i got squashed by a freakin Blackhawk. Harumph. I said a quick apology to the squad and we were off to hold D at Disco for a while.
Guess who shows up to the Disco. Yep, Khaerus along with a full squad of goons. No red carpet treatment given. We quickly disposed of that threat and moved out to help our team take City Hall. Mantis and his gang was there again to meet us. This time we made quick work capturing the flag and quickly made our way back for the last assault of the day, re take Disco. Upon approach to the Disco my last few words were "Lets show these girls how to take a flag" and booyah. Mission Accomplished.
Another great BR to watch.

Re: Another great Kerch round. Tuesday night.
We wouldn't have lost City Hall in the first place if Bernout (SL) could have heard me on VOIP the first time. I got taken out of the North side AA gun and spawned on Bernout. When I came within site of the flag I saw the bulk of the opposing squad on the flag and started yelling for Bernout to blow the C4. With all the other VOIP chatter at the time he couldn't hear me. By the time he did hear me, the opfor had already started moving away from the flag and we only got two in the blast. Bernout and I happened upon Mantis with that danged shotgun and our defense of City Hall was over.
It was all good fun though.

We may have lost it regardless of the C4 timing but we held it the rest of the round which was good solid defense. You and Ken were murder with those AA guns...excellent job all around.

Now I'm not sure the other side would have thought it was so good a round. I think our team still won by well over 200 tickets.

Great job Bernout and draeh. I knew you guys were up there the whole time playing solid D. I received CO orders to assist in re-taking the flag and once that goal was acheived we moved out secure Disco. I hope someone from the US side would chime in and give their side of it.

This video is from my point of view on the US side, piloting the LB, and the rest of my squad, whom you hear throughout.
I cut about 10 minutes from the end, which is after I went down, and spawning on the Slums, until the end of the round. Not much action in that footage though (plus it would have added another 100-200Mb
).
