Re: PR C&C night AAR!
Considering it was rushed together, I thought it went well (other than the fact that we lost).
There are different tactics involved in this type of match and we need to learn to change our play style a little bit. The British are at a big disadvantage by only having 2 CO trucks to start the round while the militia have both of their tanks and 4 CO trucks. It seems as though the British must fight a defensive battle from the start and not over-stretch their team, which seems to be completely opposite of the story behind the map, where the British are the invaders.
Regardless, it was a fun match. I can see this type of match becoming very popular for scrims. It just seems as though it is missing that one perfect map to play it on, where the balance is there between factions, the size of the map, and the terrain offered. I'd like to think Qwai would be great for this, but it just seems too small. Maybe not? Maybe QinLing is best suited right now for this type of game if you look at all 3 of those factors. We'll try that one next and see how it goes.
As far as the particular game last night, we were tasked with defending the road from Hilltop to Warehouse. We established position in the hills to the west of the road, just southwest of Hilltop. This position allowed us to observe not only Hilltop and the road in the middle, but also the west road leading to Train. We finally got our truck with supply crates after about 30-40 minutes (it had to go back to main and reload on the CP) and were able to build a fire base. I had RandyShugart on point trying to observe Hilltop, which worked for a while until he was spotted by snipers and eliminated. At this point it was pretty obvious where we were, and it didn't take too long after the fire base was constructed that a probing attack came from hilltop. We held off this attack as well as a more organized assault about 5-10 minutes later, but then our main went neutral and we were forced to retreat to main to attempt to retake it. We never made it, as we were at the river west of the bridge trying to figure out how we could cross it and get back to main without being obliterated by the militia tank sitting on the north side of the bridge. Game over.
Congrats to the militia team on their win. They were aggressive and took it to us.

I think this game mode would be best suited to Kashan 16 and Qinling 16.
The bigger the map the better this game mode would do !

Quinling 16 is the best map for this, in my opinion. Quinling is tactically symmetrical, or very near that, and that is a good thing for a tight gamemode like C&C
