sweet. Thanks! Sorry I couldnt make it, but I did sneak into TS after the games ended to hear some "war stories" and it really made me kick myself for not at least trying to be a reserve. Sounded like a blast. Especially the part with Ferris and T-man

And Ferris, thanks for healing and reviving me about 100 times.

I'm still new here and I was wondering how can I get involved in these kind of events?

If you check the Forums Often, you will see the announcements regarding special events, SCRIM's and the like. These events are announced well in advance of the signups opening up. So if you keep your eyes open and read the threads in the PR forums, you can participate.

Thank you dirt, though your presence in the decimation of TTP was greatly missed, hope all is well for you in the gigantic sandbox.

Ill be posting my AAR (though mostly all has been said) and will be getting my ribbon nominations in this week.

Re: TG vs. TTP Round 2 - Muttrah City AAR

AAR from the Cobra squad:
By the time the cobra spawned in 20 minutes into the round, the enemy had already established a strong forward outpost in the alleyway between 8th & 9th street, as well as a firebase near the Mosque. 2 AA sites were relayed to our squad leader, forcing us to remain hidden in the north west hills around Alpha 3. We saw relatively little enemy contact in the vicinity of the Docks flag, aside from a single Vodnik that had snuck along the western road heading for the Dock flag. My gunner fired 2 missles in short succession quickly dispatching the threat. We then resorted to long-range shelling of the enemy firebase with the coordination of our squad leader positioned on the hotel roof. He placed move markers 800+ meters away and we fired blindly on the targets, clearing the rooftops for a forthcoming CAS strike. We got a laser designation called in on the first of 2 AA sites on a rooftop east of the firebase and were able to safely eliminate the threat as he was distracted while he targeted a littlebird over the eastern waters. Our first real CAS strike was called in, and we flew in low from the west, directly down 8th Street, firing on our assigned attack marker, blasting a building, somehow missing one MEC soldier armed with a LAT who was able to hit us moving full speed down the street! Mistake in judgement on our part, great shot on his part, costing us our helo for the next 20 minutes. We had a total of 17 kills by this point.

The second cobra that we took out was used much more conservatively. We stationed in the north west (A3) grid for a good 15 minutes providing long range cover from the west, but the enemy figured this out and was staying well hidden on the eastern side of many rooftops, including the mosque flag that was being highly contested by both sides. We coordinated 3 CAS strikes on the mosque flag from the west, after first hearing of a AA site being dispatched by a sniper on our squad covering the rooftops. With cleared AA, we hammered the mosque flag with the assistance of a spec ops member in a different squad calling in a laser designation on the eastern half of the rooftop. We began firing from about 1000m away using a move marker, and at 750m away the laser target appeared, allowing my gunner to fire off 5 quick hellfire missles onto the rooftop. I flew low enough over the mosque that I was able to see the remains of at least 3 dead MEC troops. With flares deployed we returned to base to re-arm, repeating 2 more successful air strikes on the mosque flag until our ground troops were able to move in and secure the area.

Late in the game, we were able to sneak farther down the west side of the map, hovering around Alpha 8 (Residential Lane). We provided more long range gunfire on several hot rooftops, and had 2 exciting encounters. The first involved an enemy APC that was spotted roaming freely in the city. We struggled to get a clear shot on it, and sadly missed one brief window when it stopped in the middle of a large intersection firing at 2 of our humvees. Our gunner was engaging a suspected shoulder AA kit, and during this exchange both of our humvees were eliminated. The same enemy APC later engaged one of our APC's, and my gunner fired a missile that grazed the back end of the apc but did not destroy it. Just at this exact moment, our friendly APC drove into view, and also caught our missile's explosion. Both vehicles were heavily damaged! A great exchange between the flaming armored vehicles ensued, and finally ended with the both APC's exploding, and my gunner getting both the 2 kills & the teamkills! The second notable moment came out of the corner of my eye when I spotted a full CO truck sneaking along the western most road. My gunner quickly reacted to my shout: "enemy CO truck, hard right! 300m!" and peppered 3 seconds of rounds into it. Dead bodies poured out of the back, and the truck nearly flipped making a hard right turn just as my gunner switched to missiles and sent 2 hellfires just over its rear. We could not confirm the kill on the truck.
Round ended with 35 kills and a shout out from the MEC team saying "good job to your cobra squad."

Great After Action Warehouse. We really dealt the pain in that beautiful bird. I am slowly but surely getting some of the best footage rendered and plan on making a video of the match.

From what I saw the threat of the cobra did more to the enemy than the kills it actually made. Specially the second time around.

Some of those firefights inside the building looked really cool, the way you guys sometime out smarted them, pulled back and let a team mate take them from behind etc.
But some time they just ran right into your middle and mowed you down 8)

Re: TG vs. TTP Round 2 - Muttrah City AAR

I hope to get the ribbon nominations submitted by the end of the week god willing! (though i know he's having a party today and tomorrow with his jewish cousins for rosh(SP???) roshoshana(SP?) while they celebrate the new year.

I have a suggestion if anyone is thinking of making a video of the USMC roll out/setting up of Firebases and taking of the two flags, or something like that, if you would include this song. It's from the max payne soundtrack and if you have seen the trailer you have heard the song, and the best part is, you don't have to hear marilyn manson's voice, its the instrumental version.

also if you wish to convert it to an mp3, or some other file go to
http://www.youconvertit.com its free and easy.

I want to say how impressed with the upper echelon at TTP, instead of putting their noses up in the air and saying excuses of how they didn't have enough people etc, or that they had a better plan but couldn't execute it due to lack of players, a bunch of them have acknowledged how they didn't realize how much planning we put into our strategy on both sides (as USMC & MEC), even down to the littlest detail (golf clap for pancho and d1sposable, cougar, skylark, google, charity), and I am glad that some of you sent them the strategy, i haven't seen it posted in their PR strategy section, but I hope it will soon make its way there.

I want to say thank you guys for doing an excellent job, and for putting up with my minor CP problem of being kicked for being IDLE in the CP (note to all its ok to leave the CP for a second, trust me, u won't get kicked).

Thanks and I will be saving the rest of this for my AAR which I hope to get in maybe by the end of the day.
