    Fools Road, Chechen - "3MAN INTEL", squad 3

    5 - 0 for the Russians. Epic round!

    Major kudos to MrBr0wnst0n3 for commanding the Chechen forces. I think he did a great job. Kudos to the 3 guys in my specialist squad for their serious patience and professional conduct. Uk-Warrior stuck it out with me the whole time, WarPig was there for about the first half and then his shoes were filled by TheBizNeverSleep.

    My intent of the squad from the beginning was to primarily feed intel to the team on enemy movements, positions etc. The RoE for the squad was mostly to engage only if attacked, but to expect to break contact. We were in RED much of the time, but had opportunity to engage high value targets from time to time (we had a sniper kit for a good portion of the round). The guys regularly typed out intel reports to the team in team chat. It seemed an inglorious job but was truly a lot of fun.

    We started off by taking a technical down to F5k5 and then setting up a rally east of there. That rally was there for about 80% of the game. We moved south to report on vehicle movements out of Dylym Village...filing numerous reports on that. At one point early in the game Uk-Warrior and I spotted an infantry squad moving past us...I succumbed to tempation and we 'naded them from their left flank. It was fun

    We spent most of our time supporting the attacks around the Hill 91 Objective. Briefly, when my squad was down to 2 of us between Warpig's departure and TheBiz's arrival I volunteered to command to fall back to our Hill 155 Objective, which was undefended, and provide early warning / defense for when the Russians would make a move on it. Eventually they did with an awesome FB build in G1k2 followed by an nice overrun of Hill 155. We ended up hunting down a sniper and some misc other stuff but the majority of our troops got pulled back to defend at Hilltop. MrBr0wnst0n3 was concerned about bleeding too many tickets on the attack.

    I took our squad south again, wanting to provide early warning / intel on troop movements etc. The whole purpose of my squad. I ended up calling the mortar attack on a couple APCs and a FB in the H4 area when it was available, as it seemed no other squads had targets that they wanted it brought down on.

    It the final instant of the game, after the 10 ticket warning had gone off, we took a command truck and swung all the way around the map to just west of Dylym Village. I dropped a crate, grabbed a combat engineer kit, and set an IED at the Y-intersection in H6k5. Uk-Warrior called out the approach of an enemy command truck and the instant I detonated the IED the game ended...never saw an explosion...just heard the beep!

    It was an intense and busy game...I didn't even get my scotch finished during the 2 hour round!

    Cheers,

    It is the rule in war, if ten times the enemy's strength, surround them; if five times, attack them;
    if double, engage them; if equal, be able to divide them; if fewer, be able to evade them; if weaker, be able to avoid them.

    Must've been very fun, damnit stupid PR stuff ups. GRRRR.

    I think Intel squads are fun, I like doing that. Behind the lines, I'm a pretty experienced survivalist in PR, so many times have I escaped from squads and swam back to my lines, or hidden behind enemy territory until I had a good opportunity to break and make a run for it.

    Especially hiding under 2 BTR-80 wrecks for 30 or more minutes While BRDMS and Technicals and troops move by unsuspecting.

    Or in other words, I'm a pretty experienced person at falling back. But let me have my minute of fame.

    Stealth and intel, truly are fun.
