    Operation Barracuda 20/02/09

Last nights (GMT) Operation Barracuda, 70-0 US side Win.

Coordination Between CAS on TS and SLs on the US side was spot on, commander probably felt a bit like 3rd wheel but he did a good job. Some amazing teamwork that round, some times there could of been a few frankly beautiful screenshots taken of CAS and firefights but I wasn't quick enough.

At one point my squad and a small team of 3 were sat in the silo waiting for another flag to cap and as soon as it capped, 4 or 5 hueys just flew over low and fast dropping rockets and supplies, it was crazy, flares shooting out, hueys whirring away 10 metres above our heads, it was like god had landed at the silo or something, any people on the US side for that map got any comments and stories, it was a fantastic round and is the reason we play on TG and PR.

If this is the round that I think it was with Cougar with the CAS, I totally agree. I can't remember who was commanding, but he helped out a lot during the defense of Western Beach and on attacking Rock Fortification.

My squad did an excellent job of defending that beach and finally rock fortification. Only time we had a lot of trouble was at Rock Fortification when we got kicked back to the Essex twice, but we took it back and held it till the end. That was partially my fault for trying to do a large scale defense on Rock Fortification when we should have stayed underground like we did in the end.

However, the rest of the team was very well coordinated and having Cougar on teamspeak making CAS runs on NME squads helped out immensely. Very good match.

Yeah the CAS bird is like cheating

    33-1

SL's just need to Call for CAS, Lazer the target and give the pilot an area.

The Pilot can see the lazer from about 600m.

    Flare on the way in.

Drop all 14 on the Lazer box.

    Bank back toards the carrier.

    Flare

    do it all again.

AA has no effect anymore. I will never call my self a "good" pilot, that being said AA has not got me once since .85. Even with out flairs a quick redirection or a sharp turn wil dodge the missle. In fact, your chopper will eat up two AA missles and still make it back home safe.

Well our team wasn't, uhmm, the most experienced or organised one, so defeat felt sort of close anyways. But our little logistics squad had fun

But well played! Organisation, comms and proper use of all assets makes for a strong fight!

thats what we called ''covering the attk hueys'' i was a transport chopper on this round, the one that did hot drops at the start of the game, i had a good time flying the choppers and listening to music and gun fire at the same time.
