4/03/09 midnight+ Barracuda - Ramiel
I want to thank those apart of my squad last night for making SL a little easier and for some great squad work.
Barracuda started off a bit of a mess with a lot of pubbies flying the choppers and we were US. Once we got our kits and hopped in a chopper, the guy ignored anything I was saying and went straight onto the flag. Needless to say, we had our first death(s) because of this. After another squad got a fob on the island and we didn't have to rely on horrible chopper flying, the squad was flawless. We hit Rock Fortification(the flag the chopper kept going to, but landing on the runway surrounded by enemies) from the east, cleared it and capped it.
From there, we noticed a FOB at the end of the runway, so we sneakily flanked around on the beach/outskirts and let a squad go past us (there was another squad defending rock fortification). We ended up destroying the FOB and everyone inside it really fast and easily and taking down the AA, thus allowing whoever was doing CAS to wreck havoc on the Rock Fortification which just recently was retaken by that squad. We head back and take down their rally on the way and then clear them out.
From then on we held position inside the Rock Fortification and just defended. Nathan was sent on the beach with his marksmen and held the east front pretty damn good while the rest of us stayed in the rock fortification. Eventually xsoldier and his squad came on the Rock and helped defend. It was pretty intense fighting and it came down to the wire at the end where we won the map 4-0. Our squad's K/D was 65/18 where 1 to 2 of those deaths came from bad chopper pilots getting us onto the island in a wrong spot. It was a very good squad and a lot of great teamwork and it paid off when we won the match that close.

Started off playing Ramiel and this squad came quick. Monsieur took the place of another person I haven't seen before half way through the match (name is on tip of tongue). TF21 was running a chopper squad and there was another squad doing just the blackhawk. No one was using the strykers that would talk and I didn't feel like bringing a humvee, so we started walking towards the first cache (near the eastern mosque). By the time we got over there, we were the first squad there (and a BHawk was already down =x). I started co-ordinating with talkinbeermug over TS with his squad and he gave great fire support on the cache area while my team went in and took it out.
Once again, my squad was very well mannered and teamwork oriented. I told them a lot that it's a relief to look at my map and see that everyone is still in their fireteams and sticking together. Normally I have to repeat that many many many times a map.
Throughout the match, I think my squad accounted for about 6 of the caches destroyed (including me finding the last one). This, along with the great teamwork, was the main reason I'm mentioning it. It just seemed that where ever my squad went, we'd find the cache. A lot of good, regular players in my squad, so the squad ran like a fine tuned machine, even if they were new to my structure.
We ended up winning 102-0 and I felt like the entire team seemed to come together a lot better when we hit our first cache then from the start of the game. I really felt having a 3 medic team helped out a lot on this map and having the experience of these guys really did make this map easy to lead for me. Only once did I withdraw to the other side of the map because we were getting overran by too many insurgents. We ended up with a similar K/D(60/20) as from the match before, but I should just call it a C/D; ~6 caches to 20 deaths. Was a great match to end on.
Ramiel Squad:
Paine (medic)
TMG xsoldier1007 (rifle)
andy_bitch(medic)
TG Monsieur(medic)
GunnerySergeant (rifle)
Thanks to everyone who joined up with my squad. Was a pleasure to have some great squad members. Another thanks goes out to xsoldier and talkinbeermug for being the only squad coordinating with my squad on teamspeak, which I felt helped out a lot.
