Yesterday i had two of the greatest rounds ever on pr.
First I was in a squad on Mestia, with Wickens and some good regulars/TG. Congrats to all the guys helping me out on this by the way. I'm usually so concentrated on the game and smoking however, so I barely remember the names. Great job guys you know who you are, great job, especially on the reatreat!
We ran about hunting for stray enemies all over the map, moving mostly on the cue of gunfire when friendlies were engaged. So at one point we are rushing in to support another squad that is getting hit hard. We try to attack them from below, but we are spotted almost immediatly. It felt like we were going to get raped, so I called the retreat (shouted tbh). The squad was good and we got out of there into tree cover without any casualties. Then we proceeded to flank at least two sectors.
So we come up from the back of the enemy, and hear them fiercely engaging the friendly squad. Wickens gets a viewpoint, and because he is the only one spotting, we dont get spotted and I have time to make an attack plan. There is about a squad in sight, fighting away from us.
Plan: Me, Wickens (med) and Lion (marksman) provide overwatch, the others move in and try to locate and destroy the RP.
What hapened then was f*cking perfect. I saw one enemie looking our direction, as the others were already moving in low. He goes prone staring at us and I yell "open fire". Seconds later everything in sight is dropped. The other fireteam is skirmishing with guys in a bunker and takes out their rallypoint.
Here I took a screenshot, you can see one of the guys moving into the bunker where their RP will be found:

Then we mopped up the +-4 guys in the structure below us (munitions flag). So net +- 10 kills, RP destroyed, not a single casualty and all because of the quickness of the retreat. The rest of the round...there were no casualties in our squad that round. Never happened to me on such a map before.
Then the next map Fools road. Charity has joined in and we are running two squads in defense of the chokepoint on the NE corner of the road. The communication was excellent, kudos to you for that CC. The whole round we stayed quite close together, everytime helping eachother out. When any of usspotted the enemy, we immediatly contacted the other and he wouldget position to assist, to flank if possible.
Many squads attacked us, but ALL got obliterated. Even though they got our FOB and stuff quite often. The squads attacking us were simply unable to deal with two squads working closely. Sometimes two would come at us from totally different angles, giving us some trouble and seperating us just a tad, but they never timed their attacks enough to really negate our 2 squad advantage.
In the end we lost by 0-6, because some squad kept attacking, and apparently didn't know that, if you drop the soap, you better bring the vasiline too. It didn't at all detract from our game though. In this case the numbers speak loud. My squad had one single death. Axis got knifed . But CC and my squads KDR combined (split pretty evenly too) was something like 80 kills to 15 deaths, with many of those deaths from reconnecting etc.
So that was pretty amazing for me. 2 rounds, 1 real death in the squad. NEw tactics found, and great cooperation. I especially like how me and CC would really take the time to plan our attack. Good stuff.
I posted this in the devils' forum, but then I thought, hey some of the other players with us might enjoy this too . Cheers
Mestia was a mess for me... I ended up being the SL after ours fell off the server. I was very much out of my comfort zone and felt the frustration of my squad members. My one shining moment was pistol whipping a Chechen that was trying to flank our RP.
Fools Road was a treat. Our squad (SL'd by Rtoups) was defending Hill 165 on the West edge of the map. We were joined there by another squad (SL'd by Exakter). Several attempts were made to assault the hill, and the Russians were able to neutralize the flag once. On the Russians last real attempt to take the flag they came within 15m of our FOB, but were unable to put it out of commission. With ~10 Chechen tickets left, the Russians attempted to make one more approach to Hill 165 by taking the road West out of the train station and moving into the hills. They were spotted early by our squad and wiped out quickly. Another 6 tickets in our favor and the virtual end of the round.

Ya Fools Road was great. We had some fantastic firefights. When the Russians got right above our FB, I though for sure we were done. But, fortunately, you guys listened and we were able to regroup, set a new RP, and finish them off.
And those last few minutes were tense.
At the beginning of the round, I thought for sure our team would lose horribly. The Russians were full of 6th and a bunch of other TG guys, while we didn't have as much. But it came down to a photo finish. And people still complain about team-stacking...
It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:

Took a gamble and got a refurbished 30 GB OCZ Vertex 1 off of NewEgg for the low, low price of $30. Had some trouble getting the drive to be recognized by Windows or by my BIOS. Had to use a jumper...
It has been almost 6 months now and I am still waiting for the second peer-review report to come in for my next book (this one is on the future of television).
Things usually unfold faster than...
