Kashan 32 Scrim, 19th July
Currently, I'm downloading the BFR for this scrim, but due to the length of it (about 210 mins) I'm not going to try and get the other prespectives of the battlefied, as I dont simply have the time to get the entire scrim. I can however retell it from my viewpoint, which would cover the American Armour squad, or the hull-down Bradley's for anyone on the Mec Team
The match started with Cougar setting up the squads. He set the SL's as 1: Bradley's ( |TG-Irr|Gunner, 2: CAS (Marine and Supercobra) 4: Infantry_1 (Fuzzhead), 5: Forward observers (Ollie_fool) 6:Observers (Lokka), 7:Infantry_2 ( Mixolydian). Cougar enabled us to hand pick the squad's, so I took three people I was familiar with, which ended up with me and Jeepo_Sas in Bradley 1, and Sandiford and Warlab in Bradley 2.
We were tasked at the beginning of holding the northern ridge (E1 key 5) to prevent a flanking manouvere from the MEC, but we learned that their entire armoured squad(s) had gone down to South Village, to be met by a rush from the Infantry squads, equipped with HAT's. We took the defensive until the Apache's spawned, as the US side was based around mobility, with the infantry being supported by Bradley's and Apache's (No Abrams unless asset's died and hadn't respawned.)
After the spawning of the Apache's, we moved behind the D3 village (D3 key 6) to cover the infantry. Upon getting there, we discovered a BRDM harrasing north village, so it was promptly destroyed. While this was going on, a convoy of three tanks was spotted north, so we waited for the Apache to destroy them. Roughly a few minutes after the BDRM died, a BMP-3 drove over the ridge line next to us, but we were able to get TOW shot's on him because we were on lower ground, so he couldn't depress his turret as a result. After this, we mounted the infantry in the Bradley's and headed to north village, only to be hit from two BMP-3's waiting in ambush. We lost a bradley, and the second one pulled back behind the ridge, although half the infantry in the first Bradley were able to dismount while it was on fire (fuzzhead, a SAW gunner and a HAT kit). After this, we took a new Bradley from main and continued back to our old spot.
After returning, it was established that sitting ontop of the ridge was a no-go, so we hid behind the hill for a lengthy amount of time, still weary of the BMP-3's that were still firing. The amount of co-ax they were firing confirmed that they were still on TOW, so we waited until they switched to the 30mm Cannon, which enabled us to strike. While waiting, another flanking manouvere from the north was happening, consisting of 3 tanks and an AAV. We positioned ourself so that we could elimanate the lead element. The tanks continued into mine and Jeepo's sight's, which was followed up by two TOW's. After this, the remaining tanks fled west, and after that their fate was unknown to us.
After this, we set up to re-engage those BMP's to the west, by finding a perfect hull down position for the Bradley, which was used for the rest of the game. Upon entering this, Jeepo spotted the turret of a waiting and BMP-3, and fired two TOW's at it, although to us it was hard to tell if it was down or not, but we assumed it was due to the lack of movement. However, we scanning the ridge, a second BMP-3 was there, so we waited again for it to switch to something different than TOW's. When it switched to HEAT, we came up and hit it with a TOW, but we was unable to follow up with a second due to ammo conservation (and lack of it), so we switched to AP, but this was unable to kill it either.
roughly three minutes after this, another big armour push was coming from the north, though this time crossing over the bridge. We employed both bradleys on it, by getting them both into the same hull down position. We engaged the lead BMP-3 with AP, forcing it to flee under the bridge, and then switched to TOW to elimante the crossing tanks. We got the lead tank, but the bridge blocked a TOW or two, so the rear tank managed to get away. After this, we returned to main to re-arm the TOW's with both Bradley's.
Upon returning to our Hull down position, we discovered two BMP-3's manouvering south of the bridge again, so we engaged with TOW's and AP cannon ( one bradley on TOW's, the other on AP). We succesfully elimanted one, with the second retreating behind the ridge due to a close miss from the second TOW. While we waited for it to pop up, another northern flanking manouvere consisting of a tank and 2 AA's was able to catch us unaware, and destroyed one of the Bradley's, but due to our numbers, the remaining Bradley(myself and Jeepo) was able to TOW the tank, and shoot the AP cannon at one of the AA's. Again, Sandiford brought up a new Bradley, and we assured ourselves that we were still positive on kills, so that our death was acceptable, though regretable.
Upon regrouping, one Bradley was assigned to help north bunkers by driving in and engaging with the HEAT cannon, but upon reaching the front gate, a HAT round hit our Bradley, though not destroying it, so we bailed out to engage with our rifles (First and last time.) We managed to get a few kills before being snuffed by a BMP-3, but we learnt that Bunkers is a bad place to be. Following the trend, we took a new Bradley. While regrouping, Sandiford who was still at D3 engaged a hostile AA ontop of the Hill in roughly E4.
Upon regrouping, we were tasked with escorting the infantry into North Bunkers, so we drove up to the trench, but the alarm that they had taken our HAT kit gave us the shivers, and so we retreated back behind our D3 hill. Upon returning, a lone BMP-3 charged our hill, being only 100m away from us, although seperated by the dips of our hill. This ended up with Sandiford's Bradley going to head to head with the BMP-3 at under 50m. The result was that both the Bradley's TOW's hit while the BMP fired late and missed because it was unable to depress its turret to hit Sandi's lower Bradley. Shortly after, Sandiford's Bradley was struck by a hellfire from a havok while we remained in the hull down position.
Afterwards, me and Jeepo decided to get adventourus and pull forward to overlook bunkers, but were struck by a TOW launched from a BMP-3. For some reason, this didn't put us on fire, so we were able to pull back and repair of a crate brought up by a member of squad 6. We waited until we saw a 105mm round from the BMP hit the AA, and then we pulled forward to engage with TOW's. A few seconds Jeepo had fired both TOW's, a havoc unleashed its payload of hydra's and hellfires on us, killing us.
Upon respawning, our short lifes had taken effect, as we had run out of Bradley's, so we had to armour up in a M1, which were being kept spare incase this happened. After this, Me and Sandiford regrouped at our D3 hill, with a greater difference this time. The Abrams took the hull down position, while the Bradley assumed rear defence. Havok strafes were constant on the D3 village, but didnt find their way to our hull down position, so I guess we were lucky. A T-72 perched itself north on a hill, and although Jeepo and the T-72 fired at the same time, the T-72 hit our cupola, destroying the M1 instantly.
When respawning ,we discovered no Bradley's available, but two Apache's. Cougar presented us with an ultimatum, that if the Bradley doesn't spawn in three minutes, we should take the Apache. Of course the Bradley didn't spawn, so me and Jeepo took the Apache. Our first target was an armoured convoy to the north, so we dived on them from 600ft, but Jeepo couldn't find the lase so he missed with all of the Hellfires. We tried to hit the convoy again, but this time the tanks fired back, and we died. Because we sucked so bad, we were told no more Apache's.
When we respawned, our Bradley was available, so we took that back to our D3 hill, however, Sandiford died in an engagement with a BMP-3 and T-72, but managed to destroy the BMP-3 and cripple the T-72. He had respawned and took a Bradley as well, so we both regrouped on the D3 hill, when it become apparent that we wouldn't be pushing the bunkers with the armour anymore. A strike from a havoc came after Fuzzheads promise to build more AA, but thankfully the Hellfire's missed by 30meters, and the hydra's weren't enough to destroy our Bradley. We decided to pull of the ridge and away from the hill, which helped as the Havoc came round for a second strafe, but onlu hit our old position. After this, we RTB'd for ammo and repairs.
We continued our trend with the same hill , and so returned when repaired, and set up a perimeter of Bradley 1 (Me) covering west, and Bradley 2 (Sandiford) covering north. Evident of the lack of JDAM's dropping, we spaced ourselves out so only one of us could be killed by a JDAM. A defensive doctrine was being implented at this point, as AA was placed all along our ridgeline, and HAT kit's facing west wards.
Then we waited for about 20 mins, and basically moved a bit when we got lazed. It was stalemate at this point. After those twenty minutes, a squad of three infantry men were seen heading up the hill, so we engaged with our HEAT's,killing the last two, but the Squad leader managed to get an RP in cover. We were then JDAM'd a few minutes later, but Sandiford and Warlab survived due to their spacing.
This is probably our worst moment during the scrim, but a single mechainzed infantry squad of the MEC team had made it in North village unnoticed, and our respawning Bradley was shot at the top of the hill by the BMP-3. Sandiford moved in the village, but was hit by either a HAT or a TOW from the BMP-3, but managed to kill it still. During this, Cougar was dieing from heatstroke, so Fuzzhead took command of what was left in the field while we respawned.
Upon respawning, again, we were out of Bradley's, so we took some M1's into the field, and engaged North Village with the HEAT shells, but Jeepo got overconfident and hit Fuzzhead, although he was revived by a medic, so we earned the right to shout at Jeepo. Afterwards, we placed Sandiford watch west and myself covering south-eastwards towards the village to prevent another sneak attack through the village. Infantry was spotted in F3 so we were told to rush them with our tanks, but the Apache beat us to them so we returned to our old positions.
After this, we returned to old positions, waiting for action. After this, we waited a while, and sure enough, another flanking manouvere east of North Village occured, but ignored our M1 and took shots at our infantry instead. We fired on the BMP-3 first, and then both of the tanks. Sandiford's tank joined in on the last tank, as we had took a hit from the last T-72 firing back. Jeepo then displayed excellent gunnery by missing the CO truck 3 times. After this, we returned back to main to rearm and repair.
On the way out, the map ended, so we all congratulated ourselves.
Inbetween all of thse events, all we did was sit at our positions and wait patiently. These events I'm describing happened over the whole match, and have the view point of the US armour squad.

Re: Kashan 32 Scrim, 19th July
Keep adding more Gunner.
Great write up so far.
You lead us well and Jeepo was shooting great.
I enjoyed taking turns with Sandiford on the gun/Tow in our Bradley,
both of us got some kills and Sandiford is a great crewmate. His situational awareness is incredible.

Re: Kashan 32 Scrim, 19th July
I was part of lokka's squad (6). We were in the process of finishing up some building when the BRDM rolled into North Village from the road Southeast. We were pinned down, and I could here the hum of friendly Braldeys in the area. I spotted the friendly Bradleys on the West side of the village moving North to the ridge. Both the BRDM and Braldeys did not appear to know where each other was because a full minute elapsed before the Bradleys made their turn to engage. Once the Bradleys handled the BRDM, our squad mopped up the crewmen and squad that was left behind.
It was a bold move on the part of the MEC with a case of bad timing. MEC had just taken both North & South bunkers (simultaneously) which slowed the advance of US forces. With our advance slowed, the US armor was not afield and easily in place to stop the BRDM and squad from disrupting our rear supply line.

Re: Kashan 32 Scrim, 19th July
I was in the MEC BMP squad on the other side and while we had a good run at the beginning (and that later tank shot on the chopper later on since the Tank squad was moved to infantry and we had a tank at that point) the later part of the map felt like your Bradleys were just crushing us. Good to see we gave you some trouble!
And we didn't want to keep returning to the hills west of the bunkers after the halfway point, the commander kept ordering us to return there despite our deaths.Just because everyone does something does not mean that it is right to do.
