8-1-09 The Crimean Defensive PoE2 Scrim

This AAR is my account of what happened to my squad on that Saturday evening when those bloody Allied Forces decided to attack my turf, my home, my Crimea. With all their mighty fire power, the Allied Forces thought they were just going to muscle us UKR right off the map, sorta like The Charge of the Light Brigade. I thought to myself, not this night.
My orders came down from our CO Mantis, defend the Beach Village Flag, if we lose it, my main objective would be to hold the Lower Village at all costs.

Now i needed a squad, a squad that would love nothing more than to be on the frontlines taking it to the enemy non stop. I hooked up with a local militia, known in the area as the HUNS. They are a rag tag bunch of hoodlums but fierce warriors on the battlefield. Buflak, Xeption, Nietche, Ishotcha, DWB and myself, yeah that will do.

The assault begins! I had my squad spawn mostly AT to start. We needed to mine the beach and take out any boats or APCs. My squad took several hits from the Artillery and got taken out more than once by the Attack Chopper. APCs were inching closer and closer to breaching the Beach Village Flag while the Artillery was just pounding the living crap out of us. Once they breached, the US sent wave after wave of infantry that just pushed right up the hill and wiped my squad out. We held on for as long as we could but the sheer fire power was just too overwhelming. The flag was lost and they now have their very important foothold. "Spawn Lower Village and Defend!", were my orders.

We quickly dug in and attempted, along with another squad, to thwart the OPFORs massive push, but to no avail. They rushed 3 full infantry squads, armor, along with nicely timed artillery strikes on to that flag. We fought them tooth and nail. Xeption and Buflak were just tearing it up with those RPGs!, while DWB and Nietche kept my squad medicated. There was a shout of "Were Surrounded!" over VOIP that was quickly followed up by a very tranquil "Aint we always!?". (lol). That push was just way too much for us. "Fall back to Church!, I ordered". Damn they got Lower Village. Now we are on bleed!

Word came down from HQ that we had lost the back flag at Farm. Not good news i thought, but not terrible news either. I had to stay focused at the task at hand, getting that Lower Village Flag back!

There was an unbelievable battle that happened on the bridge that connects the two flags, Church and Lower Village. The OPFOR kept rolling their armor up onto the bridge and shelling us with HEAP rounds in an effort to demoralize us. We stood our ground! I knew, if we didnt take another flag soon we will just be slaughtered here. OK time to think. They have the bridge locked down solid but they forgot about the back door! I scoped out the valley below and it looked all clear. I made a jettison down the hill and into that quiet chasm. I had DWB watching my six as we descended into the valley. As we got to the bottom, I noticed we were spotted by a sniper above. Damn! We continued running thru the valley dodging bullets. Crap!, the sniper is right behind us! Quickly, DWB turned around and blasted that sucka with an RPG! What a shot! We took off and ran thru the valley and up behind enemy lines. I called for my team to spawn green and stay quiet. Do not engage unless engaged. We crept into the Eastern house and turned the flag gray before the enemy knew what hit em. I could hear the rattle of gunfire spraying in our direction followed by the eerie sound of a mechanized unit. Heap shells started to pummel the building we were in. C'mon flag, turn already!!! We smoked the house out, and medics just kept reviving everyone. YES! Flag is ours and now we have the bleed. At that moment I totally felt our morale shift from "oh no" to "hell yea!" We were quickly reinforced by multiple squads in an effort to squash any retaliation that would come our way. My guys turned it into overdrive, dug down, and found the courage and determination to not lose that flag again. Ishotcha went friggin ballistic with that grenade launcher, mowing down the enemy in multiples, in that Tony Montana kinda way. You know that "Say hello to my little friend!" kinda way. After evaluating the situation and knowing that i had some real talented soldiers from the 6th, 12th and 71st helping us, the HUNS, defend this flag, i finally felt a sense of calm come over me. They were bleeding bad and it was only a matter of time before they were finished. They had one last assault but it was immediately stymied by our massive force. The enemy retreated back to their Main Base and accepted defeat. Victory!

I am very proud of my squad for there level of professionalism that they showed me on the battlefield today. I would encourage anyone that has never squadded up with any of the HUNS to do so. They are a fantastic group of guys that play with a passion for teamwork and the 71st were wise in recruiting one of the best, Buflak.

I have no real knowledge on what went on back at the Upper Village, Farm or even the Church for that matter, but i am eager to know. Thats my story, whats yours?

That was a fun round for me. Attila -I mean Hitest, and his Huns held Lower Village for a good part of the round even though we were usually outnumbered by infantry and armor all while being pounded by artillery. I think the artillery accounted for half of my deaths. Even when he wasn't killing us, he was restricting our movement pretty well. So props to Vol4dor for his aim in the arty.

Our squad was excellent that round. Good times...

Props to you Hitest, awesome squadleading as usual and great AAR. This round was the most exciting for me, there wasn't a second when we weren't under fire.
They should'v known better then to mess with the Huns, back in the year 400 Attila and his boys were raping and pillaging trough Europe, even the Roman empire considered them a serious threat.
So with a history like that you can be damn sure no arty or tank is gonna make us run, only fight even harder
