I commanded a Qwai River round once. I forget when it was; I do know it wasn't too very long ago, but I'm senile so I don't recall when. It was, however, one of the best experiences I've had commanding a game ever.
I do forget how it started, but I know how the Chinese team quickly pushed us all the way back to our main flag. The situation looked grim. Thanks to the amazing efforts of our infantry, though, we managed to push back their team from our main flag, and retake the two flags on our side of the map.
While this was occuring, a squad or so that had gotten wiped out at Processing spawned up at the hidden Firebase, while two other squads held the bridge under lots of fire. When our assault force at Qwai Estate managed to take the area, the Logistics squad moved to evacuate the squads at the Bridge to assault the PLA Main flag from the south and east, while the squads spawning on the FOB at Estate moved in from the north.
We began to slowly gain ground on their team on the hill, and it ended up being a huge infantry firefight between our team and theirs in a pretty tight area. I wish I'd been there on the ground to experience it. Squad Three came around from the south with a Humvee to laze it for an Artillery strike and a final assault from the South with the humvee, pinning them in. (I hoped.)
Everyone moving up into the flag radius. I called Squad One off the flag up there as the infantry there had been defeated for them to come help finish off the remaining Chinese forces, leaving one other squad behind as a rearguard.
In the short time of twenty to thirty minutes not only were we able to retake our main flag from the Enemy, but also every other flag on the map, winning with a capout, with barely more than a thirty ticket loss for us over that time.
I have got to applaud my Logistics Squad, and [s]if I remembered who[/s] (I found the scoreboard!) they were they [s]would get a[/s] will be getting a ribbon nomination. They nearly-flawlessly managed to manuever their trucks in behind the Enemy, building Firebases in hidden locations, most of which were destroyed, but one survived -- and that turned out to be one of the major, game-deciding factors, along with the wonderful performance of our infantry.
Since I've now found the scoreboard that I overlooked (Ignore all the names in Parenthesis above, I'll remove them later or something, it's late) I'll be writing those nominations soon. The scoreboard for that round is below in it's (I believe) entirety, near the end.
Result:
United States Decisive Victory.
