Re: Monday Night's Password Games
Last night quelled many of the fears that I had about the whole demo period: we had great play from everyone, no randomness, just straight up tactical goodness.
And trading pot-shots with gapenator, well, that's just fun.

Re: Monday Night's Password Games
Wanted to let everyone know how enjoyable it was as well. One of the premier nights of gaming in recent history for me. Spent one round doing nothign but going back and forth with a squad of MEC across the rail lines... each trying to push into the other's territory, and getting pushed back. The feel of that playing out. Just truly awesome. Then the air cover that came in on hotel and just hovered there while we secured it (like Polish mentioned).... again, the feel of that was just spot on. Great times!
I hope to become a regular around here. I have a feeling my World of Warcraft guild is going to get grumpy with me come Wednesday. I'll have a hard time playing anything buy BG2 for a while if I can have an evening like that even once every 10th game!

Re: Monday Night's Password Games
We had us a sweet little sniper battle going on there at Construction. That was incredible.
With the exception of my miserable command skills, the night was amazing. Came straight here this morning and became a supporting member.
TG all the way!!

We have a WOW community here too, so if your guild spurns you, we've got you covered.

Dude, you got to tell us USMC snipers how you get so many shots off so quick! What are you, superhuman?

Re: Monday Night's Password Games
Ive found that one thing you can do is make sure you reload your clip when its in red when theres a lull in the action. Its made a big difference for me if i always have at least 3 shots to work with every time before i have to reload. It gives you the full clip to work with and every second counts when you have an entire squad moving on your position.

MEC sniper rifle is weaker than USMC....however you have a 3 shot (I believe) clip that you can burn through without having to reload.
It's all in the Reflexes.

Re: Monday Night's Password Games
I too had a good ole time...
USMC air squad.. we were talking,,, talking to our commander,,, getting assignments... swapping roles as pilot, gunner, blackhawk or Cobra(apache?)...
Shining moment was taking out a squad of MEC just as they landed to take out artilery... rockets, machine guns, beeeuuuuttttiiifffuuulll...........
Humiliating moment was my pilot (who shall remain nameless) in a low hover over a flag, with allies on the ground, hitting the wrong key and bailing... instadeath for many, including his pilotless gunner...

And that... is why I'm a grunt and just follow orders. Just gimme a rifle and some grenades, and I'm a happy man. I can only deal a little damage at a time to my own squad that way.

Indeed, the MEC Sniper rifle is not bolt-action, like the USMC. It has a clip but it is much weaker. I don't think I ever got a "one shot, one kill" on you guys.

Alright, I'm in...couldn't resist becoming a supporting member. Too much fun to be had! Look for me as "Clip" instead of "PolishBoogieman."

Holding the enemy artillery was definately the highlight of the night. That, and getting an accidental shock paddle kill. While trying to revive a teammate the enemy who killed him ran around the corner straight into my discharging paddles!

Things were going well because I finally learned how to properly aim the shock paddles.

Aye, it's moments like this that make being part of a squad that sticks together so much fun.

And there was much rejoicing... "Yaaaay."
(of course, I won't mention the number of times I tried that throughout the night and got summarily destroyed)
