Re: Props to MEC on Oman tonight.
Yep we could not even move without getting bombed or rocketed...
There was one good pilot with one good bomber and one good pilot with attack helo and a good gunner and they were making us tremble. |

Aye, the helo was MilesTeg and I. We were swaping positions. Expect it to get even worse, as we have discovered the secret of TV Missle Sniping! I don't even have to be able to see you now! Beautiful thing really...
Well thanks for the kind words, you guys pretty much kicked our ass on the rest of the maps.

Re: Props to MEC on Oman tonight.
Yes that was us! We'll tell you once we get it perfected. It is really quite ridiculous! Lets just say that besides us, no other team knows how to use a chopper to it's fullest capacity.
Right now I am cracking up in my chair. Really I'm bouncing up an down as I type, laughing hystarically. You'll never believe it when we tell you.

At the end of that match, i was in tarpan's squad. We decided it would be prudent to let the tickets bleed down. It was annoying not to be able to see your chopper, but still feeling the brunt of your missiles. I was in an apc, and tried to return the favor by firing a TOW and trying to pull it down over the ridge....not happening, although i did get you guys once with direct fire. |

Re: Props to MEC on Oman tonight.
I was the bomber pilot and FUNKED1 was the gunner. Thanks for the props guys. We took pride in "keeping the beach clean."
![]() (Note this thread - #6, about winning the air war.) What you guys REALLY needed badly was someone to man up those jets and keep us from doing our job. Just got out of another match on Oman, and that's exactly what the USMC was doing. We weren't a quarter as effective. Constantly watching our backs.

Re: Props to MEC on Oman tonight.
I think I was the CO for this map. I didn't want to be, but no one else stepped up, so I threw myself on the grenade
My air support was extremely un-coordinated and basically worthless. Also my arty was down for the majority of the round. My squads did a commendable job of working with what we had, but it was too much. The other team had excellent air cover and did a great job of keeping my arty down.

I was in tarpan's squad, and we did our dead level best go regain the strongpoint by the arty. It was a very tough nut to crack though. |

![]() The previous map we were told to told to take and hold the centrepoint on the Daqing Oilfields map. Lo and behold who should be defending it... Tarpan's gonna think I'm stalking him or something! Best moment on Oman :- the sheer joy of killing Tarpan hiding in the shed over the boat with medium range shooting, and my squad moving up to and neutralising the flag... only for Tarpan to come back in an APC and whoop my sorry ass (and most of the squad as well)! Loktight - u were giving me a pretty miserable time of it too ( ).

Re: Props to MEC on Oman tonight.
The TV guided missle flys like a dumbfire missle for quite a ways and since there is a TV camera in the nose... You just launch it and watch for an enemy-when you see one (and you have to notice it fast enough to be able to correct course) you just click on your now target and boom. No more APC at 1000 meters. You're not able to do it with anything that isn't TV guided however, including the TOW because it doesn't have the range (not enough fuel and smaller projectile) and because you can't see exactly where it's heading.
I want to make it clear that I'm not trying to steal Phelan Ward's thunder, he's probably one of the first people to discover this who play regularly on these servers, but on the servers I regularly play on alot of the squads know about it. |
